The candidates are allowed to apply for the subjects of their post graduation and its related subjects only for the UGC NET Exam.

You can not change the subject after final submission of the online application.
please check twice before the final submission of the form.

All the best!!

Re: Can I change subject for appearing in NET?

Am I able to change the subject from English to Linguistics for UGC NET if I've already registered for the test to be conducted on 28th June, 2015? I'm pursuing MA in English Language Teaching from AMU, Aligarh.

Re: Can I change subject for appearing in NET?

NET examination for that subject only which he/she had studied in his/her
master degree.
It is a common logic also that the subject in which you have
not done masters, how can you do Ph.D. in a topic of that subject.
As you have done Masters in Linguistics so you will have to appear
NET examination with Linguistic paper only.
You can't apply for NET with some other subject.

For any further details you can visit: http://www.ugc.ac.in/inside/net.html

Dear friend,
I think now it is just like impossible because this is the rule that masters subjects are only allowed in phd,but english is a common language paper so you can get it for doing your phd...
Contact with the NET or SET authority...

Re: Can I change subject for appearing in NET?

No as per my best of knowledge you can't change your subject in NET exam. according to the eligibility criteria defined for NET exam you can apply only for the subject which you had studied in your master degree.

You just can't think to do ph.d with the subject you are not having in your master degree .

so you are not eligible to change the paper means you will have to apply with your Linguistics paper only.

For further assistance or help please visit the official website of NET that is http://www.ugc.ac.in/inside/net.html

Re: Can I change subject for appearing in NET?

No, You Can Not Change Your Subjects While You Are Appear In NET Exams.

And You Can Apply for NET Exams for That Subject Which You Have Read In Your Master Degree. So, If You Are Interested To Do P.hd Then You Have To Select That Subject You Have Read In Your Master Degree.

So, You Can Not Change Your Subjects, While You Are Appear In NET Exams. You Have To select Same Subject You Have Read in Your Previous Degree. So, If You Have Complete Your Master Degree in Linguistics, Then You Have to Appear In NET Exams as The Same Subject, You Cant Change It While You are Appear The NET exams.

Re: Can I change subject for appearing in NET?

Hello friend,
There is procedures for changing the subjects for appearing into the NET exam.
But you have to notify with the application latter to the examination authority for it.
The processing time of subject changing will be 15 days before the examination.
