Re: Can unmarried female candidates join NDA? If yes then what is the procedure? I am sorry to say that Female are not eligible for N.D.A only male candidate are eligible for N.D.A exam.. N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year. I think Girls are not eligible Because of their physical weakness and at that age (16.5 to 19years) If 33% Of Girls applicable for the NDA exam then you will find more girls ratio than that of men ratio in defense services (which is really not acceptable because though many girls are strong enough to face the challenges but it really more tough challenge to face in that age) For more details, visit http://www.upsc.gov.in |

If yes then what is the procedure? hi It is great thing to prove girls have also ability to serve the country.their is no difference in beteween the boys and girls in selection or entrance in defence services . After completing your +2 =diploma you are eligible to apply for n.d.a exam which brings you to defence services like army, navy, air forces this exam will conducted 2 times in every year Selection process 1.written test In this general maths ,g.k,aptitude is present 2.interview In this they ask you recording your personal details 3.physical test and medical test Qualification You have to scored 60% in your +2=diploma Your age must be between 16.5 to 19 years You are the citizen of Indian You must be unmarried status GOOD LUCK.... |

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the NDA examination. To appear in this examination a candidate should be pass 12th std. and the age must be between 16 1/2 to 19 years at the time of appear in the examination. NDA examination is the conducted by UPSC twice in every year for the admission in the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA. I want to get you know that for NDA,only unmarried male candidates are eligible upto age group 18.but donot worry,there are several opportunities for female candidates for going in defence services after being GRADUATE.even nourish your qualities by joining NCC in the wing you are interested.just because graduation is must for officer grade services.that time,you can join defence services by going through SSB interview for Ground Duty Officer,Flying Officer in INDIAN AIR FORCE,Lieutenant in Indian Army through Direct NCC Special Entry and through CDS also... so,several opportunities are there for you...within the period of graduation,nourish your "OFFICERS LIKE QUALITIES",Which is must for being an OFFICER....Even I am trying in Defence Services having NCC"C" Certificate! female candidates are not allowed to join NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY.so you cannot join it but if you really wanred to serve our country in indian army then you can go through OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY(SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION) it is only for 10 years and 4 years extendable. good luck. |

And Physical fitness is very important for NDA Exam. Minimum Acceptable height is 157.5cm(162.5 cm for Air force)f. NDA that is National Defense Academy is not for women. However you can apply for the CDSE or UES, these are combined for girls and boys. After graduation you can apply for these exams. The age limit will be 21-27 years. There will be 5% relaxation for the reserved candidates. |

The NDA exam is only for the unmarried male candidates.And no female either a married or an unmarried one cannot appear for this exam. But instead of NDA you can go to the other fields where the female too get an opportunity to serve the nation. |
