Hi,
sorry to say that you can not do cfa because
you have so backlogs
when you clear all then you do..
My point of view first you clear paper then you decide what you do in future...

Re: Can I do CFA if I have backlogs in my B.Tech. ?

I was b.tech computer science student, I have 1.5 yr of work experience in IT industry, I am looking for CFA program, however I am confused whether i should enroll for CFA-US or not because it's very different line than the current profile, skills which I have. So basically can u clear to me that whether a btech student can do CFA or not. I will appreciate your help.

Cheers

sorry to say but untill you clear your all backlogs you can not join CFA ::

so its better if you will clear your backlogs first.

Eligibility for CFA Course

the eligibility criterion for CFA(Chartered Financial Analyst) course is candidate should have minimum of graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The students appearing in the final year examination of graduation are also eligible. there is admission test for this course and students are admitted based on the performance of the admission test.

now if you want to take admission in CFA course first you have to complete graduation. completion of graduation means you should not have any backlog. if you are in last year of B.Tech then you may appear in CFA admission test. but if you want to take admission in this course you have to clear your backlog within that year before taking admission in CFA course.

so you may apply now for the admission test. i will suggest you to study attentively then surely you will clear your backlog with in last semester and you will be able to take admission in CFA course.

best of luck.

I have worked 2 yrs in retail banking & 2 yrs in corporate banking. I am interested to do CFA -AIMR. Is it necessary to have work experience in investment banking or to work in any finacial institute before giving CFA exam?

Re: Can I do CFA if I have backlogs in my B.Tech. ?

You have not mentioned which CFA you are talking about

There are 2 types to say Icfai-cfa or the AIMR- CFA US

the second one is the real CFA it has global recognition

around 10-15 finance professionals in US are AIMR-CFA

and rest are Harvard wharton etc MBA's .. so you see where CFA's belong

in such an elite group.

Now for both the CFA's you don't have any problem with back log.. in fact

if you have 4 years or equivalent workex in finance AIMR allows you to enroll

even without degree,
Here is the weblink if you are interestedwww.cfainstitute.org/
