Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Both ias and mba are good. If you are interested in business means you do mba. But your interest in services means do ias. Your interest is important.

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Good morning dear

According to my view both filed have there own prestigious value ..... but i want to give you a suggestion do't move on the others opininion make your own choice ,

If you are very brillient student than apply for IAS exam because it is not possible for every student to clear the IAS exam but if your dream goal it to become an IAS than don't get panic do work hard ..........

On the other hand if you want to earn more money than i suggest you to do MBA because after doing CS and then go for MBA filed there is lots of money....

good luck........

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Hello Everyone,
I am in very confusing situation and want some help and suggestion. I have completed my b.tech in 2010 from meerut with 65%. I want to prepare for IAS/IPS but preparation will take at least 1 and half year and there is also a risk factor.
So, (after lots of thinking)
There is TWO options I have selected.
1. Bank Jobs
2. M.Tech

So,
The question is-
what to do or what will be the better option?
Can any one prepare for IAS/IPS during job period?

I am more inclined toward M.tech.

Can I do Study for IAS/IPS during M.Tech?
After M.tech what will be the job opportunity in Govt. Sector?

I am not interested in doing Private jobs.

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Dear friend,
according to me you should go according to your intrest.both are best career options available.but both are totally different from each other.IAS is the toughest exam in India to clear but that do not mean that MBA entrance is easier.if you want fast money in life then go for MBA and if you want status in life go for IAS.
All The Best!!!

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Doing MBA is better in the case you are interested in Management. It is your field of interest which must dominate during making any decsion. You can very easily get do your MBA and get a good job.
But when it comes to IAs it is a totaly different field and thing. Its the best job full of power and reputation and wiilingness to serve nation.
But its one of the touch exams to beat. It requires hard work and devotion as you have to put lacs of student behind you.
You have to a huge time also for this particular exam.

So the decsion has to be made by you according to your field of interest

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

dear friend,

it is totally on you .... you decide in which field you want to go..

MBA and IAS both are totally different, there is no similarity between these two..

after completion of your MBA you can get a job in a company in manager post,
you can apply for bank manager post..

after doing IAS you can get administrative jobs like D.M, IPS etc..

as you are a CS student it will be better for you to go for MBA..

all the best..

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Hello friend,

I dont think there's any room for confusion. MBA is a PG programme which helps you to get into the corporate world Whereas, the other is Indian Administrative Service. As an IAS officer, you will be dealing completely different matters as you would do in the corporate world after MBA.
MBA is a course in which you will be learning the methods of administrating any business. Throughout the course, you will learn the ways to enhance your managerial/leadership skill to perform in the related field.
But as far as IAS is concerned, you will need to crack civil service examination, conducted by UPSC. It is considered to be the most difficult examination and to crack it, one needs to have to good educational foundation and dedication. If you want to be IAS officer, you must not think of any other option along with it. Taking more than one option at a time is never going to work for IAS examnination.

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

IAS is an excellent career. BUT it needs a lots of hard work and enormous amount of luck(yes). but when you enter it you are bound to feel disgusted... because you enter it with a lots of expectations (thinking that you have become all powerfull... and you deserve all facilities).... but soon u realise that niether those powers are absolute nor discretionary... i mean most of the feel of power comes by exercising those powers as a sadist person (for baddies) or as a messiah(for goodies) or by misusing(highly) the govt facilities.. unfortunately , you cant use your power in either form. wha tyou will do with the power of implementing government schemes ( you have to follow set of procedures and not allowed any innovations)? it becomes monotonous. whatever so called power is there, it is there by exercising it over helpless poor, lower middle class, government departments and that too to a limited extent (not the kind we dream before entering ias). you dont have enormous power like the zamindar of british era even when you are DM or SP, what to talk of other posts.
you cant wastefully use govt facilities.....
in short you dont become all powerfull autocrat which we have in mind before entering it.

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

dear friend,

my clear cut advice is that if you are interested in administration, social service, etc then you should apply for IAS exam.

but if you are interested in business field then without hesitation go for MBA.

all the best.

hi,
bothare good ,but the most essential is the way you see the standard of work ,you can do after becoming engg.

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

Dear Friend
As usual i always says go according to your interest. If you interested in going IAS then go for it otherwise MBA is also good for the CSE students.

MBA will add extra effects to your C.V and you will be paid higher salary wherever you go.
MBA is the management studydes and it will make you stronger in management fiels also after having the technical degree.

Hey friend..
Dont confuse..We only can suggest you but you have to take the decision na..If you are interested in the management field then only opt for the MBA..
If you are interested to serve the country then be prepared for the exam..
It is one of the toughest exam..but your hardwork, determination and a littlebit luck will help you to clear it...MBA is not the easyone too..You have to crack that through CAT,MAT,XAT exam...
BEST OF LUCK...

Re: MBA or IAS? for CSE engineers

dear friend
no doubt IAS is better but it is the toughest exam in india.
so you will have to work very hard but the rewards will be of the highest quality
if you think you cannot work that hard then go fot the CAT
