Is Master's compulsory to be eligible to apply for CSIR NET examination

For applying CSIR NET, there are two options:

(1) M.SC with minimum 55 % marks
(2) Degree in BTech/BE/BPharma/MBBS/BS (4 years)/Integrated BS-MS

CSIR UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted by National Testing Agency, and its NET subjects are: Chemical Sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physical sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences.

To apply for JRF, candidates should be maximum 28 years in age as on December 1, 2019 (for 2020 admission)
There is no upper age limit to apply for the post of lectureship.

Re: Is Master's compulsory to be eligible to apply for CSIR NET examination?

As per academic requirements for CSIR NET exam, candidates should have completed M.Sc. degree or its equivalent to be eligible for this exam. There is no such provision that candidate should complete it within 2 years of time span.

Other than M.Sc. degree, if the candidate has pursued courses like Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS course, then also they are considered eligible for CSIR NET exam.

Note that for general category and OBC category candidates, minimum required percentage is 55% to appear for this exam. While for reserved category candidates, this percentage is fixed at 50%.
