Re: What is NETSET? I am a B.com student and have completed B.Com 4 years back NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by UGC on national level. SET or SLET are conducted in some specific disciplines on state level. The purpose of both the test is to get into lectureship and Reasearch Fellowships. NET score is valid in almost all the universities if you apply for lectureship in the discipline in which you have your qualification. There is no age restriction to apply for NET. All those who have completed Master's degree with 55% or more marks (50% for ST/ST/PWD cadidates) can apply for the test. The NET is conducted twice a year. First exam is conducted in June and other December. The notification for NET June examination is published in March-April and the notification for NET December examination is published in September-October.
