Re: Admission criteria and procedure for B.Tech lateral entry in NITK, Mangalore? You are not eligible to take admission in IIT and NIT through lateral entry or LEET exam in undergraduate courses.IIT and NIT, do not have provision of lateral entry admissions.Lateral entry is given in private colleges in which Diploma students can directly take admission in 2nd year. If you want to get admission in IIT and NIT then you have to gone through the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exam for undergraduate course and for post graduate courses you have to cleared the GATE exam. |

Diploma holders are eligible to get direct admission in second year of B.Tech or B.E. through LEET exam.You can't take admission in IIT or NIT, as there is no lateral entry scheme in any NIT or IIT. Lateral entry is given in private colleges in which Diploma students can directly take admission in 2nd year. |
