The entrance exam to become government teacher is called TET or the Teachers Eligibility Test. This exam is conducted by the education board of each state to recruit teachers for state government funded schools. There is another exam called CTET which means Central Teachers Eligibility Test which is conducted for job in central government schools. Being color blind is not an issue in teaching job. It is more a issue in defence and Civil Service Exam but not for government teaching job. As a matter of fact there aren't any medical requirements for the Teachers Eligibility Test. In fact there are relaxation in percentage for Physically handicapped candidates. Although being color blind, you are not eligible for any of these relaxation. Therefore you should not worry about being color blind and start preparing for the Teachers Eligibility Test. This exam has become extremely difficult to crack. Recently in Bihar less than 10 percent candidates managed to crack this exam. The percentage for candidates passing the CTET exam is even lower. Eligibility 1. You must be of Indian origin. 2. A graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university. 3. A B.Ed degree is also required. 4. At least 50 percent marks. 5. There is no age limit to appear for TET exam. To pass the exam you will have to score at least 60 percent marks. SC/ST candidates need to score 55 percent marks. |
