Re: Computer science is necessary for MBBS?

No, Computer Science is not necessary for MBBS aspirants.

MBBS (or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor Surgery) is a bachelor course pursued for medical aspirants for getting higher education.

To be eligible for MBBS, candidates must have completed 11th and 12th standard with PCB stream (i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with at least 50% marks.

Hence, Computer Science is an optional subject.

Yes , computer science is necessary for MBBS. There is no one standard undergraduate or graduate degree prerequisites for medical school.

In fact these are great times for a student of medicine to have expertise in computers and in engineering.

Re: Computer science is necessary for MBBS?

No, computer science is not at all necessary to be pursued at Class 12th level for pursuing MBBS degree course.

Further, the basic education required to pursue MBBS degree course is a Class 12th in Science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) combination from a recognized board of education.

Computer science is necessary for MBBS?

Your 12th standard subject is Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science so you are not eligible for the MBBS course. Candidates who have completed 12th standard with above 50% marks are eligible for the MBBS entrance exam but your 12th standard subject should be Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Re: Computer science is necessary for MBBS?

Yes, of course

If you really want to get into MBBS, then you can take up biology from open schooling if you did not had it in standard 12th. Then you will have to appear for NEET UG entrance exam and secure a seat in any medical college in India.

Re: Computer science is necessary for MBBS?

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and the minimum education required to pursue the same degree course is Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as main subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate (or 40% marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates) from a recognized board of education.

So, as far as you are concerned about compulsion of Computer Science in Class 12th to pursue MBBS degree course then there is no such requirement.

Re: Computer science is necessary for MBBS?

The eligibility to apply for NEET is that candidate must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main paper.

So, it is not mandatory to have computer science as main paper in std 12th to pursue MBBS course.
