Re: Am I eligible for SET exam after passing MCA?

Hi,

You have not mentioned your state.

SET – State Eligibility Test.

Every state conducts SET for recruitments as Assisitant professors / Lecturers in colleges.

You can apply for SET exam only after completing MCA or in the final year of MCA.

Eligibility criteria for SET –

Candidate should have postgraduate degree recognised by UGC.

Minimum percentage should be 55% aggregate.

M.Sc. in research student are not eligible for SET.

Those who are in 1st year of their postgraduate course are not eligible.

So, you will have to first complete atleast two year of your course before you apply for SET .

Eligibility criteria for SET examination:

1.The interested candidate must have the Masters in the degree recognized by UGC.

2.He / She must have at least 55% (50% for SC / ST / VT / PH candidates) aggregate marks in the Masters degree without any grace marks.

3.Those who are appearing in the qualifying exam or whose exams have been delayed or will be appearing in the qualifying exam but the result is awaited can apply for the entrance exam but the admission will be provisional unless he / she attains the basic eligibility criteria.

4.Those who are studying in first year of 2 years masters degree course or 2nd semester of 4 semesters masters degree course are not eligible to give the test.

5.The candidate has to appear in the subject of their Post graduation in the SET test.

6.Those who have passed M.Sc. in Research are not eligible to appear in SET.
