Re: Strategy to study chemistry for Entrance exams?

To begin with you need to make a list of all the areas to be covered. Then check the time frame available to prepare for the exam. Do keep some time for solving previous year papers. Based on this prepare a weekly timetable. You must keep a daily check of the portion covered. Once a week you must ensure that you revise the portion covered.

Re: Strategy to study chemistry for Entrance exams?

well to begin with you study from reputed books like Arihant,OP tandon.morission/RCM etc.
Start reading a chapter and after each chapter try answering MCQ questions to clearify your concepts,
further have separate strategy for Inorganic
organic and physical ... start with physical and organic first .. leave inorganic for some time
the difficulty with inorganic is that people tend to forget what they have mugged up..
Organic can be learnt through random games .. synthesizing any compound from anything at hand.... for that first of all remember formulas/reactions upto aromatic compounds... writing up the reactions several times is a useful memorizing trick.
for physical refer to RCM and op tandon etc.
Inorganic.. here the key is periodic table, very few people even oly few teachers teach it properly.
you must learn P.T. with linking elements their properties and groups etc.
If you don't understand something leave it and come back to it later.
Take help of a good teacher, they work magic.

Dear friend,

To prepare well for competitive exams you must first clear your basic
concepts.
For Physical chemistry part: try to first understand the concepts well
and try to solve problems from various books available in the market.

For inorganic chemistry: you have to remember things and also revise
them time to time so as not to forget a thing.

For Organic chemistry: try to understand the mechanisms of reactions
for which you should have a crystal clear knowledge about resonance,
various agents,etc.

Also try to solve some old competitive exams questions which you can find
in books available in market.

Best wishes...
