Re: Details regarding SCRA exam? Date of SCRA exam? Hello.. SCRA Scra stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice. SCRA is a exam which is conducted every year by UPSC for the selection of students in railways for Mechanical department. Student who have completed his/her 12th is eligible for this exam. There are 42 total number of seats all over India including reservation. The children of the railway employees get some benefit mark points in the exam result. After selection in SCRA, the railway pays for the further education of three years in Railway college + Free stay at Railway Hostels + more advantages. There are around 5 chance to give SCRA exam for a intermediate student till he gets 21 year old. After the study in railway college Grade A jobs are being offered to each and every student in SCRA. SCRA stands for special class railway apperintice , the exam is conducted by upsc every year , the recruitment is conducted for selection of apperintices for mechanical department of indian railways ELLIGIBILITY FOR SCRA ARE the candidate must be indian citizen 1. the student must have passed his/her class 12th with a recognised board or equivalent 2.the student must have passed with minimum 55% 3.must have passed with main paers physics, chemistry and maths 4.age of candidate should be in 17-21 years 5. 3years relaxation in upper age for obc and 5 for sc/st the next exam for scra will be conducted in year 2014 |

The acronym for SCRA is Special Class Railway Apprentice. The Special Class Railway Apprentice examination was started to select a handful of most intelligent Indians to assist them in their Railway Operations, after training at their Railway's largest workshop, i.e. Jamalpur Workshop, and for one year in United Kingdom. The selected candidates were required to appear in the Mechanical Engineering Degree Exmination held by Engineering Council (London). The eligibility criteria required for the SCRA examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of 12th with 1st or 2nd division with PCM as main subjects from any accredited board; or, * Completion of intermediate with 1st or 2nd division with PCM as main subjects from any recognized board; or, * Completion of graduation with 1st or 2nd division with PCM as main subjects from any accredited college or university. * Age limit:- 17-21 yrs. * Nationality:- Indian. SCRA examination pattern:- The SCRA examination of 2013 has already finished in the month of January. So, you will have to wait for the SCRA examination of 2014. |

This Examination is conducted every year by the Union public Service Commission. The SCRA Exam is conducted for the recruitment of Apprentices in Mechanical department Of Indian Railways. the Eligibility Criteria for SCRA Examination are : * the candidate must have passed 12th with a minimum of 55% marks from any recognized board. * The candidate must have passed 12th with Physics , Chemistry and Maths as his/her main subjects. * The Age of the candidate should lie in between 17-21 years. * Relaxation of 3 years in upper age is given to OBC Candidates whereas of 5 years is given to SC/ST Candidates. * The candidate must be an Indian Citizen. The SCRA Exam for the year 2013 has already been conducted in the month of January on 20th of January. So , you will have to wait for the SCRA Exam to be conducted in the year of 2014. Age criteria:Candidates must have attained lower age limit of 17 years of age & must have completed upper age limit of 21 on 1st august of year of examination.. Educational qualifications: 1 Candidates must have passed Intermediate or an equivalent examination in first or in second division. 2 University or board is of govenment approved. 3 Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination. The entrance pattern: The SCRA entrance pattern in entrance examination comprises written test in Mathematics,Physics,Chemistry,English Language,General Knowledge,and Psychological Test (Mental Ability).The selected candidates are called for an interview,which is followed by a medical examination. Special Class railway apprentice this examination is conducted by UPSC (UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION ) every year for two times. for appear in this exam a candidate must have maths in 12th as his/her main subject and also have either chemistry & physics. the age limit for this exam is 17-21. this examination has three paper each of duration 2 hour of 200 marks. paper I - mental ability ,social science,english reasoning paper II - physic, chemistry paper III - maths of 11th & 12th.

The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan. Part I - Written examination carrying a maximum of 600 marks in the subjects as shown below. Part II - Personality Test carrying a maximum of 200 marks in respect of only those candidates who are declared qualified on the results of written examination. 2. The subjects of the written examination under Part I, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject/paper shall be as follows: Paper-I General Ability Test (English, General Knowledge and Psychological Test) Time allowed - 2 Hours Maximum marks -200 Paper-II Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) Time allowed - 2 Hours Maximum marks -200 Paper-III Mathematics Time allowed - 2 Hours Maximum marks -200 Total Marks = 600 |

SCRA Entrance Qualification Criteria: Candidates aspiring for Special Class of Railway Apprentice exam , must successfully follow qualification criteria of Railway-SCRA entrance exam as of age , education etc.... Age Criteria: Candidates must have attained lower age limit of 17 years of age Educational Qualification: 1.) To take admission in this examination, candidates must have passed Intermediate or an equivalent examination in first or in second division. 2.) University or board is of government approved. 3.) Mathematics graduate or students with at least one of the subjects Physics or Chemistry as their degree level may apply also..
