Re: MBA after B.Sc Chemistry(H) beneficial? MBA stands for Master of Business Administration. This is a 2 year Post Graduation course in the field of Management. There is good demand in the market for the candidates who have completed MBA course especially for those who did this course from B-Schools. As there is good demand, you can easily get the job opportunity. But for this, you should be strong enough in subject knowledge and communication skills. Here is the eligibility to join this course. Completion of Graduation with any of the stream with a minimum of 50% of marks. Relaxation in percentage of marks upto 5% for the candidates of SC or ST category. As per this criteria, If you have scored 50% of marks in your B.Sc Chemistry, you are eligible to join this MBA course. You can start your preparation for any of the Entrance Exam like CAT MAT GMAT If you want to do MBA in Life Sciences, you can opt for MBA in Hospital Management MBA in Pharmaceutical Management Or else, you can opt for any of the following MBA in Finance MBA in Marketing Management MBA in Human Resource Management etc. Wish you all the best. |

However this thought is sinking as it would take me 5-10 years abroad and when i come back, what kind of job i get is also not sure. A thought of MBA Striked me, that is take up a job after masters and prepare for CAT. I Know it might sound weird, but there are reasons due to which i dont want to stay away from my family for such a long period. Since a PhD in india , doesn't get you any good mooney in 5-6 Years, i am not intrested in it. Expert opinions required. |

But i still get confused thinking abt d future. My chemical teachers doesnt support my decision as there is no conection between the 2 fields. Am i really in the wrong way?? |

Re: MBA after B.Sc Chemistry(H) beneficial? Hi All, Coming from experience, someone with a MBA and BSc in Chemistry. I would not recommend you complete your MBA unless. 1. Your current employer or future employer is paying your MBA fees. 2. Don't get mistaken that a MBA is a ticket to a management position or a career change, you are severely mistaken. Experience is the most important thing when it comes to this, no employer will look at you twice if you are looking for a career change without experience! Things to think about. MBA is a very expensive piece of paper and I would highly recommend any chemists not to do it unless you have support from your employer. |

Re: MBA after B.Sc Chemistry(H) beneficial? i am doing mba in finance after doing bsc in chemistry...........and let me guarantee one and all that mba is sure to open up new gates for ur future career prospects.its true tat mba and chemistry are completely two diffrent things.but wat drives todays market and what will help u achieve ur desired professional efficiency matters!! mba is a gud option 4 people who want a strong playing field in the big corporates which is a bit difficult after doing bsc or msc. |

MBA broadens and enhances knowledge and should be viewed in a sense of building up managerial skills. Then go for an MBA otherwise you will not be in a position to defend yourself in the interview. Just dont do it for the sake of degree... have passion in doing it. |

Dear friend, yes you can do MBA after B.sc in chemistry.and it is benificial also.the criteria is you should be graduate from a recognised university with 50% marks in aggregate in any discipline.but i will suggest you to do M.sc in chemistry because that will increase your knowledge over your subject at same time you will have great career options.but it depends on you if you are interested to do MBA then surely you can go for it there is no harm All The Best!!!! |

Re: MBA after B.Sc Chemistry(H) beneficial? dear friend, First of all u decide in which field u want to go. u r doing Bsc in chemistry then why r u thinking for MBA. these two fields are totally different. u can go for Msc in chemistry. after that u can get job as a teacher in govt. colleges... u can continue ur study and u can go for Phd. for doing research or u can be a professor of a good university. MBA is a business line the streams in MBA are Finance, marketing, that is totally different from ur field.. so, i don't think that u should go for MBA. all the best. |

Actually, MBA has nothing to do with your B.Sc degree as MBA in Finance/Insurance/Marketing will take you to another world. I think, this is the time to realize your skills, interest and passion toward a particular field.If you think you have the ability to pursue masters in chemistry or related science, then you should go for it because this too can take you places and if you want to be a part of ever growing corporate world then MBA ofcourse will not be a bad choice. one thing I would like to suggest you that don't go for MBA just because you find most of your friends running after it. Your decission must be influenced by your expertise, not by others. |
