Re: Is SCRA a very tough exam? hi, dear, SCRA means "Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination" conducted by UPSC every year for two times. this exam is the one of the india's toughest exam , due to their huge syllabus of this examination ,this examination contains three paper of 2 hour of 200 marls each. the syllabus of this exam contain reasoning, english, mental ability, social science,general knowledge ,physic,chemistry,mathematics of 11th & 12th. the age limit for this exam is 17-21. |

The SCRA exam is conducted in two stages - 1.Written test 2.Personality test After clearing the personality test candidates are recruited as railway officials .The syllabus not so vast but it requires a good preparation .For the english papers ,candidate should practice the general rules of vocabulary from any standard books of civil service exam . For the general knowledge section candidate has to focus on the geography,Indian politics ,social planing ,welfare of India etc. Thank you |

SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) yes my brother SCRA is the tough exam.because it contains huge amount of syllabus . this exam is conducted by UPSC twice in every years. for appearing in this exam you must have to at least qualify +2 examination with PCM group. this exam have three papers of 2 hours each- exam pattern of SCRA EXAM comprises of the following papers: Paper I General Ability Test (English, General knowledge and Psychological Test) - 2 hours and is conducted for 200 marks. Paper II Physical science (Physics and Chemistry) - 2 hours duration and is conducted for 200 marks. Paper III Mathematics - 2 hours duration and is conducted for 200 marks after that you interview!!! |

The SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) exam is conducted according to the following pattern: Part I: Written Examination, carrying maximum of 600 marks in the subjects as given below. Part II: Personality Test carrying a maximum of 200 marks in respect of only those candidates who are declared qualified on the results of written examination. Part - I of the exam pattern of SCRA EXAM comprises of the following papers: Paper I General Ability Test (English, General knowledge and Psychological Test) - 2 hours and is conducted for 200 marks. Paper II Physical science (Physics and Chemistry) - 2 hours duration and is conducted for 200 marks. Paper III Mathematics - 2 hours duration and is conducted for 200 marks The papers in all the Subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) are set in English only. In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the Metric System of Weights and Measures only will be set. Question Papers is approximately of the Intermediate standard. Candidates must write the paper s in their own hand .In no circumstances are they allowed the help of a scribe to write the answers for them The commission has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects as the examination. The candidates are not permitted to use calculators or mathematical or Logarithmic tables for answering objective type papers (test Booklets). They should not, therefore bring the same inside examination hall. Note: Question Papers will be approximately of the Intermediate standard. The papers in all the subjects will consist of Objective (multiple choice answers) Type questions only. The Question Papers (Test Booklets) will be set in English only. Part - II: Personality Test Personality Test carrying a maximum of 200 marks in respect of only those candidates who are declared qualified on the results of written examination. Each candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before them a record of his career both academic and extramural. They will be asked questions on matters of general interest. Special attention will be paid to assessing their potential qualities of leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities , mental and physical energy, power of practical application and integrity of character. |

SCRA and IITjee entrance exam both are totally opposite exam. SCRA is not the tough exam but the number of seats for these exam makes it tough. Syllabus for these exam is: *Course of physics,chemistry and maths of 12th class *English comphersion and grammer test. |

To take admission in this examination, candidates must have passed Intermediate or an equivalent examination in first or in second division. 2.) University or board is of govenment approved. 3.) Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination. 4.) Mathematics graduate or students with at least one of the subjects Physics or Chemsitry as their degree level may apply also.. SCRA Entrance Pattern: The SCRA entrance pattern in entrance examination comprises written test in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, General Knowledge, and Psychological Test (Mental Ability). The selected candidates are called for an interview, which is followed by a medical examination. The standard of syllabus is that of Class XII (CBSE equivalent). The notice for the examination, along with form and syllabus Mathematics, Physics ,Chemistry , English language is brought out by the UPSC around the months of June-July. According to the new rules issued by the Ministry of Railways, the exam is now conducted once every two years. The selected candidates undergo a four-year rigorous training programme in Mechanical Engineering, for which the Institute has a Memorandum of Understanding with BIT, Mesra, Ranchi. The semester system of BIT, Mesra is followed, with workshop training sessions during the holidays at BIT, Mesra. The apprentices get a stipend in the scale of Rs. 4000-4400 with Dearness Allowance,making the final emoluments upto Rs. 7400, apart from medical benefits, privelege passes and PTOs. After successful completion of four years of training, the candidates join as Indian Railway Services of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) Officers in Indian Railways to face a challanging and satisfying career Degree Awarded: SCRAs get a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering after successful completion of four years of training. In general for a eligible candidate,it would take around 2 weeks of preparation for this exam. The exam is intended to assess the English communication skills, GK, science and mathematics knowledge. If you try to do best hard work. scra paper patten will be General Ability Test Physical Sciences Mathematics Genaral ability test contain only general knowledge questions. if you study daily news paper then increase your knowledge. Physical science contain physics and chemistry questions. These type of questions can be studied in 12th standerd. Mathamatics is very easy subject.Here to know all fundamentals. You will prepare the previous question papers. All the best |

The syiiabus for SCRA is same with the syllabus 11th and 12th science. There are also have GK and english communication skills. You should take prepare well. Re: Is SCRA a very tough exam? yea obviously SCRA is difficult examination. actually this examination is different from any other all Indian level examination. there is limited seat in SCRA examination. but so many candidates are appearing in this examination. so really it become tough for this. but don't worry if you seriously study for SCRA examination then surely you will clear the examination. it's not possible to say that how month study is sufficient for SCRA examination. it will vary from person to person. this year SCRA examination will be conducted on 31st July. here i am attaching the total notification fro SCRA 2011 examination. go through the attachment for details about the SCRA examination. visit UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in for more details about SCRA examination. you will get previous year SCRA examination question papers from this website. best of luck. |

Re: Is SCRA a very tough exam? SCRA and IIT-JEE are two completely different exams. The standard of paper depends on your level of preparation. But yes SCRA is not easy to crack. The syllabus for SCRA is complete physics, chemistry and maths of 11th and 12th. You must also have a very good knowledge of English language i.e grammar. |

Re: Is SCRA a very tough exam? no dea SCRA is not the more tough exam but also not easy to come under the top member its cutt offis very high about 90%. so it difficult to beat this much compatition but not also impossible. about 6 month coaching are available for the prapation for the SCRA. |
