Brother,
If you see yourself fighting in the air, you are in airforce.
If you see yourself fighting on water, then you are in navy.

In both you are serving the country.

Re: What is the difference between Navy and Airforce?

Any country has to develop a defense of its own, to keep its citizens protected from the outer attacks.

Now this defense system prevails in the 3 forms namely :

LAND
WATER
AIR

The armed forces, who are on LAND are called the ARMY.
The forces which operate on the WATER are called the NAVY.
And the forces who operate via AIR are called the AIR FORCE.

China holds the largest army in the world - 22 lacs. US having the second largest - 16 lacs and India being the third 13 lacs.

US and UK have the strongest NAVY, and US and Japan have the strongest Air Force in the world.

~RJ~

Navy is the naval wing of any army, which has got its forces on the water bodies, seas, oceans. A

Re: What is the difference between Navy and Airforce?

Navy and Air Force have very similar training and missions, with the primary difference being that many Navy pilots are trained to take off and land on aircraft carriers while Air Force pilots are all land based.

Training
The training for both services is very similar and in some cases they train together depending on the type of aircraft.

Missions
Both services fly the same types of missions including combat, aerial refueling, reconnaissance and transport.

Types of Aircraft
There are some aircraft that are used by both the Navy and Air Force, such as the C-130. Still, many aircraft are unique to each branch of service. Many Navy aircraft are smaller and built to operate on carriers. The Air Force has some of the larger transport planes and strategic bombers not flown by the Navy.

Air Force Assignments
Air Force pilots are based at one location for at least a year with temporary tours of duty at other locations that range between a few weeks to a few months.

Navy Assignments
Most Navy pilots have a home base plus deployments for longer periods of time on board aircraft carriers.

Hi,

The Main Difference is,

Air Force: They run the technology of the Military (Jets, electronics, computers, etc.)

Navy: They control the seas, and the air above it (Ships and Jets)

By tradition, The US Navy and Marine Corps rely on each other. The Navy to get the Marines were they need to go and support them once there. This is based on the tradition of the British Royal Navy and Marines from the time of the Revolutionary War to the present. The Navy provides the Marines close ground support, medics, supplies, shore bombardments ect. While the air force tries for somination of the skies, the Navy also tries for domination of the seas and protection and support of US Shiping and interests at sea.
The marines are usually fast attack, light infantary troops. The Marines have special helicopter aircraft carriers withinthe Navy in addition to flying the Harriers.
The army usually provides four types of soldiers: infantary, artellary, armored and aviation support. Armored support is both light and heavy support. Light being Humvees, Armored personal carriers, ect while heavy is tanks. Air support for the Army is provided by helicopters. These helicopters consist of medical, troop transport, reconnince and attack.
The Air Force is also broken down in components: Air Lift (supplying all troops with cargo planes); fighters and bombing. Air lift is provided by cargo Planes like the C-5A Galaxy and C-130 to supply and resupply all branches on the military with daily needs. Fighter planes to gain dominance of the skies and close in air support of all US military on the ground. Such as taking out missle sites, enemy tanks, antiaircraft batteries, enemy comand and control structures, ect.. Bombers such as the B-1, B-2, B-117A, B-52H.
Both the Navy and Air Frce are equipped with Nuclear weapons, The Air force has both bombs and has control of missle silos. The navy has missles based on subs and bombs
Having said that all branches thier individual missions but they also cooperate with each other and overlap missions
