Why you need to change the branch when there are lots prospects and opportunities in I.T. itself. Its a growing field. If you want to pursue higher studies you can surely go for MBA,that would be a better change. With I.T. you can go for GRE -to get into foreign universities for M.tech GATE-you can get into IIT's and other best colleges in India For these you just need a wider understanding of your own subject and a good practice |

It would have been easier to give an answer to this question if you had specifically mentioned if it is automobile engineering or various courses in automobile. You are eligible to do both. If you want to do automobile engineering then you need to again start from first year onwards. If you are planning to do certain other courses on automobiles, then yes there would not be any problem in going ahead with that. If you can learn the basic theory of the course then it will be really easy. |

Nothing like that you should go only to IT field if you have completed your UG in that field. You can do any courses out of your field. And Automobile is a booming area now. So if you are interested you can do courses in that. All the best. |

Re: Can I do Automobile Engineering courses after completing B.Tech IT? if you want to do further study in automobile engineering after completion of B.Tech in IT then it will not be possible for you. only student who have B.Tech in mechanical engineering and automobile engineering can go for further study in automobile engineering. now if you want to study automobile engineering then you have to start from the beginning of engineering. you have to appear in engineering entrance examination and you have to take admission in first year of automobile engineering or mechanical engineering. i think it is not desirable. i will suggest you what you are doing is good enough. go with it. if you are interested in higher study then choose subject from IT. there are so many good subject in IT. best wishes. |

The eligibility for MTech in automobile engineering in most of the colleges is as follows: B.E., Degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or Mechatronics or any other equivalent degree of any recognized university. |

YOu can of course do the automobile engineering course but that will be such a long time when you complete this degree again. Besides this,your B.Tech(IT) will be of no value after doing this automobile course again. Now it is up to you whether you want to waste your time in such w way, better stay with the course you are presently doing. Good luck!! |

I would recommend you to higher studies in your own field ie. IT field. For top Indian colleges you should appear GATE. For Foreign Universities you should appear GRE.
