Re: Am I eligible for correspondence law courses if I have done 12th 12 years back with 49% marks?

Dear Mohit,

First of all i would like to tell you that no one can pursue LLB Course through correspondence mode. This is because the Bar Council Of India [BCI] accepts only those candidates who have completed the LLB course through Regular Mode.

Also as you have completed 12th in 1998 so from now , i think your age is 31 years now and any candidate cannot apply for the LLB Course until and unless they have completed graduation.

So , first of all you have to complete the three years graduation but till then your age will be 34 or 35 years.

And , the Age Limit for the LLB Course is :

a) For General/OBC Candidates : 21-30 years

b) For SC/ST Candidates : 21-35 years

So , if you belong to SC/ST Category , then you can think of any type of chance as SC/ST Candidates who have completed graduation can pursue graduation till 35 yrs of age.

Other wise if you belong to Open /OBC Category , then its impossible for you to pursue this course.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Dear Aspirant,

Since, you have mention that you have completed your Course through Correspondence then it is impossible to you for getting admission in Law. Because according to the BCI (Bar Council of India) A candidate must have completed their Course Through Regular mode only......

Age you have mention that you have 12 years gap between after completing your 12th Std. then there is a No any chance for you to apply for Law direct after completing your 12th. Because A candidate who's age is less then 20 years only can apply for it direct after 12th....

If you are wishing to join Law then you have to take admission in any Bachelor Degree and have to complete it so, i think for that you have not sufficient time it quite late for you so, Not applicable in your Case......

Eligibility and Criteria:-

1. A candidate must have Bachelor Degree in any discipline from Recognized Universities.....

2. Final year of Bachelor also can apply for it....

3. A candidate should have secure at least 45% in their academic career....

4. Age of candidate should not exist 30 years....

5. Age Relaxation for SC/ST 5 years on upper age.....

With Regards......

I don't think you are eligible for the LLB course. Firstly you can not apply for the law course through correspondence. It is not valid as per Bar Council of India. The LLB is not even offered through distance education or correspondence.

If you completed the correspondence law course, the Bar Council of India will not accept it and therefore you wont be able to practice as lawyer. Therefore you will have to apply for the regular mode course only.

Secondly since you have only completed 12th standard you will first have to complete graduation. The LLB course can be pursued after completing graduation. Here I believe you will face trouble.

By the time you complete the graduation course, your age should be more than 34 year old. Unfortunately to apply for the LLB course you need to be less than 30 years old. Although there is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.

If you belongs to Schedule Caste of Schedule Tribe, please calculate and see whether you can complete graduation before 35 years of age to apply for LLB course. If you can't then forget about the LLB course.

I should also point out that although LLB can also be taken after 12th but for that your age should not be more than 20 years old. I am afraid it is not possible for you.

Eligibility

1. Qualification: Any valid bachelor's degree.

2. Percentage: Min of 45 percent marks.

3. Percentage (SC/ST): No less than 40 percent.

4. Age Limit: Anyone older than 30 years can't apply.

5. SC/ST Relaxation: 5 years in upper age limit.

6. There is no relaxation for OBC.

if you want to study law and you want to become a lawyer then i don't think it will be a good option.

i think you should do whatever you are doing now. there must be some profession in which you are corrected. in this age you should continue that profession. if you are doing any job which is law related but don't require LLB degree and now you want to do course on law for that work then you may do. you should contact with the institution which offer correspondence law course.

at this age lawer is not at all a good option. and you also don't have a percentage of fifty. better is that you remain in the same post where you are and increase your experiences because for lawer you need to study 4 years then a five year experiences which is make your life worst

hello sir
look doing other course like b.ed or something that would probably suits your age will be much better instead of doing law which will further take much time...
so sir i would suggest you to make up your mind and do accordingly...
best of luck

may be you are eligible but i don't think it will be a good options for you.

as you have done 12th on 1998 so now your age is near about 36. so in this age if you want to study law and you want to become a lawyer then i don't think it will be a good option.

i think you should do whatever you are doing now. there must be some profession in which you are corrected. in this age you should continue that profession. if you are doing any job which is law related but don't require LLB degree and now you want to do course on law for that work then you may do. you should contact with the institution which offer correspondence law course. then will confirm you about your eligibility.

best wishes.
