Re: Important dates for I.F.S. 2010 exam? Date of Notification/Last date for receipt of applications: 20th February, 2010/15th March, 2010. Date of Commencement of examination - 10th July, 2010. Minimum academic qualifications prescribed - A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or forestry or Engineering of a recognised University or equivalent. Age Limits: 21-30 years as on 01.07.2010. |

Important Dates : Start of sale of application form from post office : 20.02.2010 Last date of receipt of application form : 22.03.2010 (29.03.2010 for far flung areas) Online Application form : from 27.02.2010 To 15.03.2010 UPSC IFS 2010 written exam date : 10.07.2010 IFS No.of vacancies : 84 UPSC IFS Age criteria : The candidate should not be less than 21 yrs. of age & more than 30 yrs. as on 01.07.2010. The upper age is relaxed for SC / ST / OBC categories. IFS Eligibility criteria / Educational Qualification : The applicant must have Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with at least one of the subjects like Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering. The degree must be from a recognized university. UPSC IFS Application fee : General category & OBC candidates have to pay the fee of Rs. 100/-. SC /ST / PH candidates are exempted from this. |

For general category, one can give 4 attempts whereas OBC candidates can give 7 attempts & SC / ST candidates has no limit to the attempts.
