rank between 5000 to 6000 is very good. at this rank you will surely get admission in nit college. but there is a problem that if you want to take admission in topmost nit colleges like nit warangal, then may be you will not get the desired branch because these colleges are having very high cut off rank. but you must fill every branch of the nit college because every year cut off rank changes and if your luck works, then you will get your desired branch in the best nit college. otherwise there are a lot of nit colleges in india. in most of them you will get any branch of your own choice. |

Dear Friend In all the NITs and IIITs half of the total seats is reserved for students of the the state in which that particular college is. At this AIR(5000-6000) you will get most of the NITs except few top ones. You should have a look to previous year seat allotment (closing and opening rank) for complete details.
