Re: Can I join IIT having completed Diploma in ECE? After passing Diploma you can't join IIT college for B.Tech degree. To join IIT college first you have to take admission in B.Tech college.After Diploma you can take direct admission in 2nd year 0f B.Tech. After passing B.Tech you can take admission in IIT college for M.Tech course.For M.Tech you have to clear GATE exam. For your information there are two chance for a student after 12th- First a student can give IIT entrance exam with 12th Second next year of the 12th class. After these student's are not eligible for IIt entrance exam. ohk....good luck. |

Re: Can I join IIT having completed Diploma in ECE? dear friend, Yes, you are eligible for IIT-JEE .... The eligibility criteria for IIT-JEE *you must have complete your 12th with physics , chemistry, maths or you must have complete your diploma.. *You have to secure 50% marks in your 12th or its equivalent.. But my friend after completing diploma you can not take admission in 2nd year of your B.tech directly.. You have to take admission in 1st year... so, if you really want to take admission in IIT , then go for the exam.. All the best.. |

Re: Can I join IIT having completed Diploma in ECE? hi since IIT has no provision for lateral entry so you may get admission in IIT but you will have to give the entrance exam..... IIT entrance exam can be given only twice i.e. once immediately after giving 12th exams and second the next year so if you satisfy these condition then you are eligible to give entrance exam all the best |

there is no lateral entry in iit colleges.so you can not take admission directly into the second year of b.tech in iit. but you can take admission in first year by giving iit jee exam and getting a very good rank in it. there are only two attempts for giving the iit jee exam. you also need to score minimum of 60% marks in diploma for taking admission in iit colleges. you can apply for the exam until your age becomes 24 years. after that can you will not be eligible for the exam. |

The minimum academic qualification for admission through JEE is a pass grade in the final examination of 10+2 system or its equivalent that includes even the diploma holders. You require a minimum of 60% marks in PCM(physics,chemistry,maths) in 10+2 for SC/ST it is relaxed by 5%. Though you have done diploma in ECE , you will have to join in First year of B.tech in IIT same for all. so, best of luck start preparing..... |

Either of these qualification will be consider... That mean you are eligible for IIT but remember one thing you will get admission into 1st year of B.tech rather than 2nd year...but if you go via AIEEE you will get admission into 2nd year of b.tech.... One must score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate that is 60% overall percentage including Physics,chemistry and Maths in your qualifying exam for GENERAL AND OBC..and 55% for SC/ST,PD... |
