NET exam conducted by UGC , two time every year in month of June and December.
Candidates who are interested to write this exam, qualify post graduation
with 55%.
Age of candidate should be 28 for JRF and no upper age limit for lecturership.

The notification published in month of april and october.

Hi dear,
UGC declares NET exam twice in a year. There are about 24 and above subjects.
It is to do JRF and get Lecturership award.



I am sending the syllabus in attachment. Also some question papers.Please refer some of the websites like

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.

The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.

Syllabus of NET in Computer science:

There will be two question papers, UGC NET CS Paper II and Paper III ( Part-A & B ). UGC NET CS Paper II will cover 50 Objective Type Questions carrying 100 marks.

UGC NET CS Paper III will have two Parts-A and B; Paper III (A) will have 10 short essay type questions carrying 16 marks each. In it there will be one question with internal choice from each unit ( i.e.. 10 questions from 10 units; Total marks will be 160 ).

UGC NET CS Paper II :

1. Discrete Structures
2. Computer Arithmetic
3. Programming in C and C++
4. Relational Database Design and SQL
5. Data and File structures
6. Computer Networks
7.System Software and Compilers
8.Operating Systems ( with Case Study of Unix)
9.Software Engineering
10. Current Trends and Technologies

UGC NET CS Paper III (A) Core Group
Unit-I :
Combinational Circuit Design, Sequential Circuit Design, Hardwired and Microprogrammed processor design.

Unit-II :
Database Concepts, ER diagrams, Data Models, Design of Relational Database, Normalisation, SQL and QBE, Query Processing and Optimisation.

Unit-III :
1.Display systems, Input devices, 2D Geometry, Graphic operations, 3D Graphics, Animation, Graphic standard, Applications.
2.Concepts, Storage Devices, Input Tools, Authoring Tools, Application, Files.

UGC NET CS Paper III (B) ( Elective / Optional ):

1.Theory of Computation
2.Context free Grammars
3.Linear Bounded Automata ( LBA )
4.Chomsky Hierarchy of languages : Recursive and recursively-enumerable languages.

NET examination is conducted by UGC twice year.

Eligibility for the exam ::

You must have completed your Post Graduate degree course with minimum 55% marks.
Final year post graduate degree candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination.

NET Examination was conducted By UGC 2 Times in a year and If you have completed your Post Graduate degree course then you are eligible to apply for NET Examination, But you have to scored Minimum 55% marks in your post graduation, Final year post graduate degree candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination.
