Eligibility Criteria

The candidate who is applying for the course should be an Indian citizen. He/she must have a BAM /Ayurvedacharya /BAMS from the colleges acknowledged by the CCIM and a Degree in BAMS or its equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% of marks separately for theory and practical. They should also have a Certificate from the Medical Council.

Career Prospects

The importance of Ayurveda has increased greatly not only domestically but also globally. This has led to the employment of Ayurvedic experts in pharmaceutical companies for new researches in medicines of Ayurveda. An Ayurveda specialist can find employment in a variety of hospitals and colleges and he/she can also establish his own private clinic. The initial salary package may not be so attractive but when the aspirant has become a professional in the field, he/she can earn more than they got as a fresher. The basic government salary for an Ayurvedic practitioner is around Rs.12, 000 – Rs.18, 000 each month. Nursing homes and Private sector hospitals offer good pay-packages too. Ayurvedic practitioners who practice abroad also have a good salary package. Those who are beginners make up to $20,000 per year and practitioners who are more experienced make between $35,000 and $60,000.
