UPSC exams r conducted by central government.the selected candidates r recruited for all india services.they should ready to work in any part of india.they occupy the highest posts in every departments.ex.IAS officers getting secretary ranks.IPS officers getting DG ranks.State PSC is conducted by concern state governments after recruitment and training they will be posted as sub divisional officers RDO for 1st cadre.DSP for 2nd cadre.after 10 to 15 years they will be promoted as IAS,IPS cadre.they can work within their state.2.the difference between IPS by UPSC and PPS by state PSC is ips selected candidates go to training in SVPNPA hyderabad after finishing the academy training they will be posted as ASPs of their selected state.after their probationary period they wil become Additional SPs .then in 2 or 3years become District SP.they will reach DG or ADG cadre in their service.the officers of state PSC r after training posted as DSPs or ACPs.then after few years they will be promoted as Additional SP or Additional DCP.after few years as SPs or DCPs.they will promoted as IPS by their service.this cadre officers can reach upto IG rank.

Re: How to get recruitment in RAW? Is it possible through UPSC exam?

If you want to join R & AW directly then I have two ideas strucking in mind.

1) RAW recruit directly through Staff Selection Commission Organize, which a exam called Deputy Field officers Under cabinet secretary, there you can appear. And we know cabinet secretary is also an IAS officer, as because cabinet secretary is the highest post of IAS, he is who handles PM's office.

Deputy Field Officers (DFO) are appointed directly at the junior levels and then the field officers and senior field officers. DFO are recruited for General Duty (GO), telcom, technical and economics duties of R&AW. Other than GO, the rest are promoted to FO and then RO (Resident Officers) in their respective cadres.

Field officers (equivalent to inspector) and senior feild officer (equivalent ot DSP) are appointed on seniority. You need to work for a minimum of eight years as a DFO to be promoted to the next level, that is a FO. Similarly after minimum five years FO is promoted to senior field officer (SFO) (Class I) rank. Foreign postings are only for General Duty FO and SFO, under, secretary, deputy secretary, director, joint secretary and additional secretary (MAinly the whole R&AW are controlled by them, means an IAS officer).

2) Candidates who TOP IAS exams are invited by RAS to join them. But its not so easy. RAS conducts its own entrance even tougher then IAS, followed by Personality test etc. Then begins training ..........!

THANK YOU...

Re: How to get recruitment in RAW? Is it possible through UPSC exam?

Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW or RAW) is India's external intelligence agency. It was

formed after the poor performance of the Intelligence Bureau

R&AW has its own service cadre, the R&AW Allied Service (RAS) .Recruitment is done by deputation from the Armed Forces or Civil Service Officers.

they have their own exam RAS through which you can get into RAW and server the nation.the exam generally conducted from december to january .

after clearing exam you will call to give personal interview

Re: How to get recruitment in RAW? Is it possible through UPSC exam?

R & AW Dreams

R & AW is an independant body, it has the power to select candidates as they wish, sometime R & AW recruits there agents and officers from Army, IPS, IAS, IB, CBI, or directly from Universities/Institutes (For Specialist works).

Present R & AW chief is P K Hormis Tharakan, who is 1968 batch IPS and was Directorate General of Police. In the same way previous R & AW chief was Mr. K.C.Verma he was the chief of IB. Tenure are likely to be change soon.

Now the thing would be clear to you, that there is no direct recruitment policy for it.

Like wise IAS, IPS etc. R & AW service is known as RAS (Research and Ananlysis Service).

The whole tenure of a R & AW agent is of nearly 2-5 years, after that they are allowed to back to there old service of weather IAS, IPS etc. or they are also free to accept high administrative and executive posts in MNC's
