ECE department is core department of the industry.so you have good chances for govt sector.

After B.Tech in ECE , you have lots of scope in govt sector like BSNL , MTNL , DRDO , SAIL , BHEL , BALCO ,State Electricity Board , Airport Authority of India Ltd , GAIL , BARC ,ISRO,ONGC,NTPS etc.

Also you are eligible for off-campus of TCS ,CTS ,IBM ,WIPRO ,HP,ACCENTURE ,INFOSYS etc.

If you have to go for higher study . Then the options are JRF , SRF , MS ,MBA ,M-TECH ,PHD etc.

But you must be qualify in GATE or MAT or CAT exam and your academic marks should be above 60% for applicable above higher study.

Engineering students have best scope in Public Sector Undertaking or through Indian Engineering Service exam if looking for job in government sectors. These are the options for job related to your course.

Besides these there are other options like banking jobs, Civil Service Examination but PSU and IES should be the first preference for the Engineering graduate. Luckily for you Electronics and Communication is one of the most popular streams of Engineering therefore you can apply for job in almost all the Public Sector Undertakings.


Public Sector Undertaking

The companies that are controlled by government are called Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). At present there are more than 150 such companies in India. These companies require engineering graduates and therefore they conduct a entrance exam.

The selection procedure is quite simple. Either you will be asked to appear for written test or they will ask your GATE score. This is followed by interview. Please remember that some companies conduct written test while others ask for GATE score. So you should appear for GATE exam.

There is no common entrance test, you will have to separately apply for each company. Just wait for the notification which is published in leading newspapers as well the official website of PSU.
