An entrance test is conducted by Indira Gandhi Open University so as to admit the eligible candidates to the various academic programs such as Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) and Commonwealth Executive Master of Public Administration. These programmes are designed for talented students who possess the ability to learn.

The CEMBA /EMPA academic programmes was designed and developed in collaboration with four Universities. They are Indira Gandhi Open University (India), Bangladesh Open University, Open University of Sri Lanka and Allama Iqbal Open University. These programmes are conducted by the School of Management in tie up wiyh the school of Social Sciences. In India the administration of this programme is carried out through the Indira Gandhi Open University. The programmes are designed in such a way that it provides the learner with great flexibility. Candidates can learn these programs by continuing their regular work.  The Commonwealth admission test for MBA and MPA programmes are conducted to filter out the eligible students.  These entrance examinations are usually conducted twice a year.

Structure of CEMAT

The question paper for the CEMAT entrance examination is structured in such a way to test the ability of the candidates. Questions are designed in an objective type multiple choice pattern. The General awareness section of the question paper consists of 30 questions which are of 30 minutes duration. The next section of the question paper aims at testing the English language skills of the candidate which includes 50 questions. The time duration to solve each question is one minute.  It s followed by the Quantitative aptitude questions and it also consists of 50 questions. The last section of the CEMAT Admission test is the reasoning test and it has 70 questions.

Eligibility Criteria

The aspirant should be a graduate from any of the recognized universities in India or the candidate should possess an educational qualification equivalent to degree. The candidate should also have a minimum of two years experience at the supervisory management level in order to appear for this entrance test. He/She attending the examination should be a permanent resident of India.

How to Apply?

The aspirants can obtain the prospectus and the application form in person from Indira Gandhi Open University on making a payment of the required amount against the application form. It can also be obtained through post by sending the required amount of money a demand draft in favor of Indira Gandhi Open University which is payable at Delhi. Candidates have to make sure that they have written their full address and the name of the program he wishes to pursue on the reverse side of the demand draft.

Study Plan

The candidates have to make use of the available time in a sensible manner. Divide the entire portions into smaller sections as it is very easy to cover all the portions this way. This helps the students to develop confidence in them and thus enables the students to answer all the questions in a better way. In order to get rid of the nervousness before the exam eve the candidates have to make sure that they have covered all the topics for the next day’s examination thoroughly without any fail. Take short breaks in between while you study as it helps in increasing the concentration. For the purpose of improving the language, the candidates have to start reading the news papers as well as magazines. Start this at the earliest as it takes some time to improve one’s language skills.
