Details on B.Ed (Distance Education) course in Osmania University
Graduation qualification is essential for candidates to apply for B.Ed (Distance Education) in Osmania University. Only those candidates who are able to clear written test will get admission for B.Ed course (Distance education) in this university. It is essential to study English, GK, Teaching aptitude and subject based questions for this exam. Candidates will get a call for counseling process on clearing written exam.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to join for B.Ed course in Osmania University need to abide to certain eligibility requirements as specified by the university. Graduates with 50% marks are eligible for this course. Along with this, candidates must have 2 years teaching experience in any recognized schools or educational institutions. The Head of working institution must issue a teaching experience certificate. It is also mandatory for candidates to give a No Objection certificate issued by the current employer. A selection test will be conducted for prospective candidates who apply for B.Ed course.
Exam Pattern for B.Ed (Distance Education) course
The written test for B.Ed course consists of 100 objective type questions. It is mandatory for candidates to complete the written exam within a time schedule of 90 minutes. The written exam includes 3 main sections
Section 1 – General English
- Total marks – 20 marks
Section 2 – General Awareness and Teaching Aptitude
- Total marks – 20 marks
Section 3 – This section includes questions relating to the specific subject area of specialization. Candidates need to answer a total of 60 questions for 60 marks each. The specific subject areas to be covered is as follows –
- Mathematics - 60 marks
- Biological Science - 60 marks
- English - 60 marks
- Physical Science- 60 marks
- Social Studies- 60 marks
Admission Procedure for B.Ed (Distance Education) course
The total intake of students for B.Ed course in Osmania University is 500. Osmania University prescribes a specific percentage of candidates to be selected for B.Ed course in each subject areas which is as follows –
- Mathematics -25%
- Biological Science – 20%
- English – 10%
- Physical Science – 10%
- Social Studies -35%
Candidates will be given admission for B.Ed on the basis of the relative score attained in the selection test. In order to determine the final test score, the marks scored by candidates in all the 3 sections of the entrance examination will taken in to account and a final result will be determined on that basis. Candidates who pass the selection test will get a B.Ed (Distance mode) Entrance rank card. Counseling process is conducted as a final stage of selection. As part of admission procedure, candidates must submit the following documents –
- B.Ed (Distance mode) Entrance Hall ticket
- Original degree certificates
- B.Ed (Distance mode) Entrance Rank card
- Memorandum of Marks
- Teaching experience certificate
- Community certificate
- Date of Birth certificate
- Nativity certificate
- No Objection certificate from current employer
Along with the above mentioned documents, it is also necessary to deposit the B.Ed admission fee and counseling fees.
