For Engineering Graduates: Make Yourself Employable
Today after the completion of the secondary course the students and also the parents are looking for a professional course to provide a concrete base for their career. They are not showing any interest in the traditional arts and science streams, though there are rare cases. The traditional courses become the last preference for the majority. For the science aspirants the career planning is started after the matriculation itself. The students join for the different coaching classes to take the entrance exam after two years.
Such a long preparation is taken for the professional courses especially for the medical and engineering courses.Hence the decision for the course is taken much before and after the brainstorming discussion with the family and the professional people the student manage to take a stream and a college.
When you observe the professional courses the Engineering program sharing the same status as that of what cricket is enjoying. Even though Hokey is our National game, cricket is the popular one in the country and so there are many other courses available in the nation, most of the students are choosing the Engineering streams. One reason behind this is the massive opportunity offered for the graduates in various engineering back grounds. As the number of opportunities are increased in this profession, the higher education sector responded by increasing the number of available seats for the aspirants. In a year around 55lakhs of engineering graduates are passing out each year and there are enough opportunity for these graduates within the country and abroad but unfortunately still our unemployment ratio is a little higher. A recent survey carries out by World Bank answer this question and raise a new question on the potential capability of the Engineering graduates.
The Conclusion
The survey result shows that majority of the employers are not satisfied with the fresh graduate engineers. Around 64% saying that they are some what satisfied and 4% are not at all satisfied with the newly hired people. The 17% of eth employers are concluding that they are not very pleased with the fresher’s performance. The survey also states that the massive engineering pass out are failing to meet the demands from the employers side and they are failing at the communication, professional and employability skills. Our education system is also not showing any positive response for imparting these skills in the graduate level.
The increased numbers of engineering colleges are not meeting the quality standard both in the learning environment and in the teaching aids. The country lakhs the qualified professional as faculties and the p0rofessonal education system focusing more on the business side rather than spending on improving the needed talents in the candidates. Memorizing the books are not at all a skill in the present worlds and unfortunately our education system promoting the same starting from the primary level to the higher education level. The world as well as the industries is demanding and the student need to have some expertise to meet the demand and competition. Here are some important areas the student give attention,

These are some way to improve yourself to match with the expectation and with the demands, though nobody can fulfill the expectation completely since it doesn’t have any limits, you just have to reach near to these demands.
