Which is better PG Diploma or M.E/M.TECH in Mechatronics?

I'm a final year mechanical engg student. I want to pursue a career in electrical field and planning to do my post graduation in MECHATRONICS
I want to pursue a Industry oriented Career and I'm confused about whether to join POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA OR M.E / M/TECH in mechatronics. Which one is better and has more scope in the industry and future? Is doing a PGD a better choice than doing an M.E?

As per my knowledge, M.Tech in Mechatronics is best to pursue after graduation in Mechatronics rather than pursuing post graduate diploma.

You can work in the areas like design, R and D, manufacture, production, safety and quality. Your designations may be like systems engineer, application engineer, product development engineer, quality and safety engineer, research and development Engineer, project supervisor and managers.

You can also work in research organisations and educational institutions .

Both are equal in terms.of level of study..
But if one talks about jobs preference, then preference is always given to M.tech..

Mechatronic can be applied to fields like nanotechnology..
Aircraft engineering
Transport and computer aided design

M.Tech Mechatronics is a postgraduate Engineering degree course of 2 years.

For M.Tech Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or GATE.

Whereas
PG diploma is a postgraduate qualification awarded after a University degree

PG Diploma in Mechatronics is a short-term course with 9 months duration plus 6 months project and ME/MTech in Mechatronics is a 2-year degree course and divided into 4 semesters. A degree has more value than a diploma course but your diploma course has its own benefits. If you want to go for a job and want an early start then you can go for a PG diploma course but if you want to go for research work or may be interested in PhD/lectureship, in that case, go for ME/MTech. It totally depends on your future goals and plans.
