Fitter is an Engineering trade in an industrial training institute. It deals with assembling, and manufacturing which fit each other. After the ITI course, you get a wide knowledge of fitting and assembling different parts such as welding, Gas and Arc, Sheet Metal, Black Smithy, and Heat Treatment. You can join an apprenticeship, it is a job training process where you can opt for government sector units like BHEL, BEML, HAL, BSECOM. You can also choose private companies for an apprenticeship like Maruti, TATA, and Honda.

You can also go for higher studies like a diploma in mechanical engineering and after completing the diploma course you can apply for a job in the relevant field.

In my opinion you should continue your studies to engineering degree at least, in order to get better job. You can get admission in diploma once you have complete ITI course. The duration of diploma course is 2 years. Once diploma completed, you will be eligible for engineering course. Using LEET scheme you will get admission to 2nd year of engineering course directly.

Fitter is a highly job oriented course. That means you can get job easily on the basis of ITI certificate. There are many public and private sectors where a candidate can work. After completion of this course a candidate can get great jobs in government as well as in private sector as a fitter, welder, machine operator, lathe machine fitter, mechanical fitter, technician etc.
