Any candidate who has done +2/HSC/PDC with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as the main subject with a minimum of 45% marks, can appear for this exam. Also, candidates with any educational qualifications equivalent to the above, are eligible to apply for AMIE.

AMIE (Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers) is a professional certification program offered by the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI). It is equivalent to a bachelor's degree in engineering and is recognized by the Government of India.

To enter into AMIE through Diploma, you must first have completed a three-year diploma program in engineering from a recognized institute. You must also have a minimum of two years of professional experience in your field.

Once you meet these eligibility criteria, you can apply for AMIE membership through the IEI website. You will need to submit your educational and work experience certificates, along with a registration fee.

After your registration is accepted, you will be required to pass both Section A and Section B of the AMIE examination. Section A covers engineering sciences and is common for all branches of engineering. Section B is specific to your branch of engineering.

  • Clear Section A: After applying for Section A, you will receive study materials from the Institution of Engineers. You can study these materials and appear for the Section A examination, which is held twice a year.
  • Apply for Section B of AMIE: After clearing Section A, you can apply for Section B of AMIE, which includes specialized subjects related to Civil Engineering, such as structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, and water resources engineering.
  • Complete Section B: You will need to complete all the subjects in Section B and appear for the final examination, which is also held twice a year.
  • Obtain AMIE certification: Upon completing all the requirements of Section A and Section B, you will be awarded the AMIE certification by the Institution of Engineers.
