Diploma students are not eligible to appear in the NDA exam. As the minimum eligibility criteria for this exam is that candidate must have completed the Higher secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subject combinations or its equivalent from any recognized board/institute. The age of the candidate should be between 16 to 19 years.

According to the law which is introduced by government that diploma holders are not eligible for NDA.

The minimum eligibility criteria to appear in NDA exam is that the candidate must have passed their class 12th or those who are appearing in class 12th the same year, are also eligible to appear for NDA exam, the minimum age limit of the candidate must be of 16.5 years only and the maximum age limit is 19.5 years.

The educational qualifications will differ depending on which branch you wish to join. Candidates for the Army, Air Force, and Naval wings as well as the Indian Naval Academy will be required to pass class 12th of the 10+2 pattern. The students who are currently enrolled in the 12th class are also eligible to apply and the students who do not meet these qualifications may still be eligible if they possess equivalent accomplishments but these cases are considered exceptional and extremely rare.
