Dear Bushra,
Mathematics is essential for doing economics honours but to a certain level only,i.e.you need to study some of the topics of mathematics not whole of mathematics. As for example-statistics,which is a very inmportant topic in economics,to study the effect of some decision. So,you have to study some essential topics of mathematics. You need to have basic knowledge of maths.

Well you have taken a good decision to opt for Economics Honours, go for it no problem.

But remember there you have to study Maths and Statistics also, as Mathematics is the language of Economics.

And after completing BA (Economics) one of the best option for you is that you can Enroll for M.sc (Economics) or integrated P.hd.

After completing M.sc there would be plethora of oppurtunities for you.

Hi,
Yes maths is important for doing economics(hons) .Economics(hons) is fully based on calculations like in the field of demand and supply calculations in economics, you need to calucalte simple interest rates even compound interest also. So, to pursue a economics(hons) you must have maths as your subject.

Basically if you have Economics and not Maths in your +2 then it will remain in best four, or if you have Maths and not Economics in +2 then Maths will be there.

You must required anyone of them in Best of 4.

Yes you are eligible for economics honors.
The eligibility criteria mentioned in DU is 10+2. And there is nothing weitten about 10+2's stream. Even if maths is required the commerce students are eligible for ECO honors.
