Yes.
Diploma is a 3 years duration course after 10th.

But candidates who completes HSC or ITI & wish to take admission for diploma, then they will get admission for 2nd year diploma.

So, they need only 2 years to complete diploma course because they will get admission as direct 2nd year.

You will also get admission for diploma 2nd year as you completed HSC.

No.

After 10th you can join any diploma course.
You just need to appear for entrance exam, then you will get admission for diploma in respective branch.

You can also apply for software engineering.
After HSC you will get admission for diploma as direct 2nd year student.

Government Polytechnic Thane is the best and old polytechnic college in maharashtra.

It is government polytechnic, so the merit list is definitely higher than any private polytechnic institute.

To get admission in government polytechnic Thane you must have above 90% in 10th.
