You cannot do Ph.D directly after your Bachelor Degree

You should do M.Tech and then apply for Doctorate.

Second option is after M.Tech, do M.Phil (2 years) so you need not write entrance exam for Ph.D. and doing M.Phil will guide you in preparing your thesis and prepare yourself for doing research.thank you

yes, you are elligible to do phd after doing b.tech. But i suggest you to do before doing phd you should do phd.

You can do PHD directly after B.Tech , number of universities in India offers doctorate after B.Tech including IIT's .

So no worry , and go ahead .

yes u can qualify for net and do phd after btech without doing mtech.but u should have the dedication and without it life can become horrible.

Actually if you see most of them wants masters degree in order to gain admission to Phd courses. The fees is not much high. Its just 10,000 rupees.For Phd admissions entrance tests and interviews are organised to select student for Pdh courses.

So appear for GATE and do your masters and then go for Phd

all those who told that phd after btech cant be done ....think again....go and visit the website of IIITDELHI and you will realize your mistake....its recognized too..

yes ,but have to appear for gate and score very high percentage,for example iit's take 95 percentile students for direct admission to phd.

There are many clg but first of all you must have a very good GATE SCORE.so appear for GATE or any National level exam and apply for Ph.d.and another thing, those who have commented that its is not possible to do ph.d after b.tech, please update yourself.chk iit site.

to do phd first u have to do m-tech OR MS for two .. then only ur eligible to apply fro it...so i would like to suggest.. if ur doing engineering then do ur ms first and then do ur phd..that will be more easy for you and its related to what u learned during BE..hope these helps u...

u can do..!!! for that 1st u hav to send ur research paper to the scientist or professor who is also doing the same research.... it is not that much easy that they will accept ur paper... u must be genius with ur topic... if u get selected dey will make u as their assnt... and u can proceed .. keep in mind that for past 5 years 1ly 3 students got slected frm whole INDIA!!!!

DEAR friend...after btech you can't take admission directly in phd go for mtech then phd....and for mtech appear for gate exam conducted by iits.

No you are not eligible for phd after completing b.tech. The eligibility for phd is master in any stream like msc,mcom..... So first you do the any master degree and then apply. All the best

No,you can not do PhD after Btech directly.Because in order to Phd you need a Master's degree.So first of all you need to pursue M.Tech course then only you'll be eligible to carry on your Phd.

Sorry sir , you cannot do Phd after b.tech directly. For Phd degree you must have M.phil. degree only then you will eligible for Phd. You have to clear M.phil. first.

Yes you can apply for PhD directly from B.Tech. However as mentioned above you might be required to complete GATE exam and IIT is one of few institutes who accepts B.Tech graduates. Most importantly you have to find whether they work in research in your area of interest. Also you might have to find good mentors to guide you through the doctoral program.

However I would like to mention few pointers both negative as well as positive for your consideration in directly opting for PhD. If you are successful you might receive doctorate however if something goes wrong ( it sadly happens) you would prefer to have masters degree as intermediate. Moreover if you have Masters you can give PhD a try in other institutes too. In the positive side you would attain doctorate in minimum years if you are capable enough. I am not sure whether our system and people is positive enough to let a person to attain such rapid growth. They might try to even pull you down a bit. I am just stating some real facts experienced by my peers.

By completing M.Tech you can enter into senior research fellowship without any exams given you have the problem you plan to do research in. Though advice can be given by many of us I would suggest you to visit IIT campus and talk with faculty and students to get real opinion and possibilities. This would help you to clear all your doubts.

friends u can do directly phd after btech frm institutes like all iits ,iiser,iisc,jncasr etc..
for that one needs to qualify national level exam like gate.
some iits need a valid gate score for the call of written test/interview, where as some require a very good gate score.
coming to iisc and jncsar (bangalore) they conduct their own exams after having a valid gate score..
iitd,iitm,iitb and iitmandi only take those students who r among the top 20 rank holders of their university...
so leaving these 4 iits one can get into phd programme in other iits after qualifying gate exam with a good score.

Stdets with good academics can directly do PhD after graduation. No need to do MTech or Integrated MTech PhD.
Just keep a watch on press releases of premier institutes for the eligibility criteria.

Do a DUAL course of M.TECH PHD in an institute which provides this oppertunity.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is the entrance test for M. Tech and GMAT, MBA in Universities of USA, Canada and other countries.

Academic Eligibility :-
Must have undergraduate degree (offered under 10+2+4 years of minimum education basis) from any of the recognized Universities

Must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA on a 10
point scale or equivalent grades in the qualifying examination.

In GRE total score should be minimum of 1200 for M. Tech admission and in GMAT

600 out of 800 for MBA admission is required.

GRE Test Format Or Syllabus :-

The following seven sections are on the written test...
Duration for each paper is 30 min.
38-question verbal section
38-question verbal question
30-question quantitative section
30-question quantitative section

yes you can do phd directly....but you need to have atleast 3 international publications and 15 or more presentation certificates on the topic which you are interested in.......this procedure is easy if you are applying for germany/abroad......but i have seen many such cases in jntu-h also...........best of luck

I think you must do your postgraduation in same from a recognised college, because for persuing p.hd one must have post graduation. direct admission in p. hd after b.tech is not possible,. you have to do m.tech first first.

Yes friend, you surely can. Though most of the academicians lecturing here seems to be ignorant of the fact, there ARE colleges and Institutes like IITs, IIITs, JNU etc. who offer PhD directly after B.Tech.

Now , u can do phd after b-tech , but minimum time should be 3year.

i would like to tell you that there are two ways as per my knowledge,
1. iitd( www.iiitd.ac.in) but just in CSE and ECE branch, and
2. by going through JEST exam u can get direct admission in Ph.d.
