i am a B.tech final year student.I appeared CAt-2010 exam, but in that exam my overall pecentile was poor.So, kindly suggest me Is it good to drop one year after btech for CAT preparation without doing any job?

no its not good to drop one year after btech for CAT preparation. you should study for it side by side. if you will not succeed in CAT, your one year is being saved but if you didn't passed, you can proceed further.

it's my opinion and rest of all depends upon you.

droping a year is not good...

it lead to loss of a year in job, and also it lead to more tough of examination due to presence of past year and present year candidates..

more over you are in 3rd year so have better time duration to excel by taking a crash course simultaneously

is four months enough for preparation for CAT?I will be appearing for CAT 2011.Have already enrolled myself in TIME,since a year,but will start doing serious preparation.

I dont think so !

Why to drop a year when you can prepare for same without droping, just appear for it if you cant get good then fo next time, while doing any part time work you can also prepare for it side by side. Dont forget you are an Engineer and Work experiance will make your career prospect even better and much better.

So, I think first time you have to appear for CAT when you have given your finals then if not good rank get into some part time work related to you field, and prepare for it simultaneously, it would be better.

Check out if you think by Droping you can deliver your best then its Ok not problem, but if you have even a little doubt then so as I explained.

However, decision is your's Remember no one can Judge you better then yourself.

Hey please don't think of wasting one precious year for CAT training.

You can go through CAT training from institutes like TIMES which offer you a good training course for 1 year/6 months.

You can go through the training when your in the fourth year because the 2nd semester comprises of project so better go for training in the fourth year.

Yes it is good to prepare for the cat exam, CAT is a national level entrance exam so if you prepare for one year then you get good marks.

hi, I have just given my final year's exam.. Its B.sc botany(H). I have one back paper in december,that's why I cannot get addmition in M.sc. I have not filled any form. I am very unknwn and tensed about what should I do. Its bad to drop one year.. Please suggest me what should I do.

Anything which can assure you admission in top MBA colleges is good.
But always remember, competition these days is too high.
People take year drop and also gain work ex in that period to increase their chance of getting selected as work ex also has some components in final admission.
That is the reason many people starts preparation during their graduation itself.

You can join CAT coaching in your prefinal year of graduation.
