Eligibility For Becoming IAS Officer


In order to join the Indian Administrative Services..a candidate must clear the Civil Services Exam which is conducted every year by the UPSC..

The Civil Services Exam consists of two stages..

1) Prelims :- The prelims..also known as the CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test) tests you on general knowledge,current affairs and aptitude skills..

2) Mains :- If you clear the Prelims..you shall then qualify for the Mains which will test your knowledge of your graduation subjects..

If you clear the Mains..then you'll be called for the interview and the final selection..

In order to appear for the Civil Service Exam..a candidate must fulfill the following minimum qualifications

1) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

2) You should be a graduate degree holder or a final year student from a recognized University..


Important Dates :-

The Civil Service Exams (Prelims) 2012 shall be conducted on 20th May,2012

the forms shall be available from 4th February,2012 and the last date for form submission is 5th March,2012..

the UPSC Mains shall be conducted on 5th October,2012..

Hi Dear
IAS is the main exam in India , Every student has an aim for become a IAS officer.
There is some criteria for whose will able to Give this exam.

Criteria:-


*Candidate pass graduation in any stream passed from a recognized university or college.
*Age- 21 to 30 years
5 years for OBC candidate
7 years for SC/ST candidate

*Maximum 5 times for general candidate
7 times for OBC candidate
No limits for SC/ST candidate
give this exam.

*Exam is divide 2 parts
Preliminary exam
Final Exam

Dear Friend,

Yes a post graduate candidate can 100% apply for the IAS examination if he is with in the age limit criteria.
The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the IAS examination is that the candidate should has completed graduation from a recognized institute and the age of the candidate should be between 21 years to 30 years.

If you are with in the age limit criteria then surely you can apply for the examination for the IAS.

Yes post graduate students also eligible for IAS exam.

Age criteria:
Age limit is 21years to 30years, 3years age relaxation for the general candidates and 5years relaxation for the SC/ST candidates.

Eligibility criteria:
Candidate shove be complete graduation from any recognised university.

Candidate must be a citizen of india.

Selection procedure:
Preliminary exam,
Main exam,
Interview.

Yes you are eligible to opt for IAS exam on the basis of your post graduation and the other age limit is:

21-30 yrs and relaxation is given to sc/st and obc..

IAS Exam is conducted through Civil Service Examination conducted every year by UPSC.

The age limit for Civil Service Exam is from 21 to 30 years, the upper age of which is relaxed for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years. So accordingly an OBC candidate can appear the exam from 21 to 33 years and SC/ST candidate from 21 to 35 years.

The Post Grduate student is eligible for IAS, Civil Service Exam.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University.
