Age limit to apply for IAS exam-

General age limit to apply for IAS exam is 21-30 year.

For general cetagory student age limit is 30 year.

For SC/ST student maximum age limit is 35 year.

For OBC student maximum age limit is 33 year.

To apply for IAS exam you must have graduation from any recognised university.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

To apply for IAS your age should be 21-30 years for general category.
For OBC it should be 33 years maximum.
For ST/SC it should be 35 years maximum.

AGE LIMIT CRITERIA FOR OBC CANDIDATES

Age Limit
- 21 to 30 year (GEN Candidates)
- 21 to 33 year (OBC Candidates)
- 21 to 35 year (SC,ST and PH Candidates)

So, 3 year age relaxation is given to OBC candidates and 5 year age relaxation is given to SC,ST and PH candidates.

Max. Age limit for OBC candidate is 33 year.

Age limit for OBC students in IAS(Indian Administrative Service) is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission).

* OBC candidates must have age limit within 21 to 33 years
* General candidates must have age limit within 21 to 30 years
* SC/ST candidates must have age limit within 21 to 35 years
* Candidates must be graduate from a recognized university.

No of attempts:

* OBC candidates - 7 attempts
* General candidates - 4 attempts
* SC/ST candidates - No limit

there are minimum age requirement foe a general candidates is 21-30. but as a SC\ST OR OBC candidates there are relaxation of 5 & 3 years are given to you.thats means as a obc candidate you can appear in this exam till the age of 3 years

IAS exam is a civil service exam, which is conducted by UPSC every year..

Age Limits :
(a) A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained
the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2012, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier
than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August, 1991.
(b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable :
(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

21-33 yrs

The candidate aspiring for IAS officer should have to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

Age criteria for IAS, Civil Service Exam:-

For General Candidate - 21 to 30 years which is relaxed for reserved candidate like OBC up to 3 years and for SC/ST up to 5 years.

So an OBC candidate can appear the exam from 21 to 33 years while SC/ST candidate from 21 to 35 years.

Apart from this the candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or or pass in any stream from a recognised University.
