Hey friend, To become a IAS officer you need to write the IAS exam which is Indian Administrative Service exam which is known as one of the Indian Civil Service exam and being conducted by UPSC and held every year. And joining in as a IAS officer at an age of 17 years is a good approach but you cannot join in as a IAS Officer with this age as you are not eligible. The thing which you are lacking is the age limit as you need to have 21-30 years of age and that is for General category candidates. In the case of you being a Sc/St should have 21-35 years and for OBC candidate it is 21-33 years So,you are not eligible for applying for the IAS exam to join in as a IAS officer with being just 17 years old. It is better that you wait for some more year and continue your studies and then apply for the exam as you need to complete your degree as per the education qualification needed for the exam. Indian Administrative Service. first of all for compete IAS you have to complete your graduation with 50% minimum. after that you have to compete civil service examination conducted by UPSC. The exam has three stages ,two are written test and third one is interview. first of all you have to seat in preliminary test. test is divided into two papers, paper one contain 100 question and paper 2 contain 80 question, the type of questions is objective. After that you have to seat in exam mains,in which you have to select two papers according to your choice. In this questions are subjective types. |

Re: How to become an IAS officer? I am 17 years old
Your intention is good to become a IAS Officer but you are not fulfilling the required academic criteria and age criteria to be so.
You don't need to worry about this. You can apply for the selection procedure once you meet the required criteria. Here is the selection procedure that you should crack to become IAS officer. Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview CSAT Exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) once in a year to recruit the candidates into various civil services like IAS IPS IFS etc. You should have completed your Graduation in order to be eligible to apply for the selection procedure. You should possess the following age criteria to apply for civil services Exam. For General category : 21-30 years. For OBC category : 21-33 years For SC or ST category : 21-35 years. I suggest you to apply for CSAT Exam once you attain this criteria. Meanwhile I suggest you to have good preparation for this Exam. Don't neglect your academics. Give equal importance for both the things in parallel. Wish you all the best. |
