Sir , i have completed my 10th from delhi board and did diploma of polytechnic in mechanical engineering now can i apply for any Indian army services like navy or air force ?? If possible then please let me know how??

Eligibility to join Merchant Navy after diploma in mechanical engineering:

Aspirant who has completed 10th and diploma in required field is eligible to join Merchant Navy. Aspirant must have done diploma with at least 50% marks and Diploma College should be approved by AICTE.
Maximum age limit should not exceed 28 years.
There are 8 colleges in India approved by DG Shipping in India for the course of Marine Engineering Diploma.
You will be undergoing basic pre sea training which will be arranged by the company in which you join.

- After Polytechnic you will not be able to apply for Indian Air force or navy. Actually Polytechnic is diploma course and therefore you are not eligible.

- You must pass 10 + 2 and then apply for NDA (National Defence Academy) exam.

- Or you are also eligible for Indian Air force and Navy after graduation with Physics and Mathematics.After graduation you have to apply for entrance exam known by CDS (Combined Defence Services).

CDS Means Combined Defence Service

The CDS examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to time in a every year.

Eligibility criteria to join Indian Navy:-

The candidate should have passed 12th standard from a recognised board.

The age limit is 16.5 to 19 years.

Only male candidates can apply

Minimum height required is 157 CM.

Nationality Indian

Physically and Medically fit.

First you have to complete your graduation. After that you can apply for CDS exam which is conducted by UPSC. Through CDS exam you can apply for IMA, Navy Academy and Air Force Academy. Thanks

As you have pursued a polytechnic course, so now must complete graduation course to be eligible for applying CDS Exam.

Combined Defence Services (CDS) is an exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment to Indian Navy, Army, and Air Force.

To be eligible for this exam, you must have done graduation from a recognized institute.

Polytechnic and Diploma holder candidates are not eligible to take part in CDS Exam.

As you have already pursued Diploma course, so you can take lateral entry into any Bachelor course.
