You should be at least 17 years to attend this exam. The upper age limit should not be above 21 years. You should have completed the minimum qualification of 12th class. You should have studied mathematics as the main subject. But you also need to have studied Physics /chemistry any one of the subject as main one. You should have taken the educational qualifications from a recognized university.

For Railway Apprentices, one has to crack SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) Exam which is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

The competition for this exam is too high. Because the number of positions will be less. There will be 10000 applicants for one post. Every year UPSC conduct this exam to recruit 10 positions or little more than that.

Here is the age criteria in order to be eligible for this SCRA Exam.
-One should be in the age group of 17-21 years by the 1st August of the year in which the exam is going to be conducted.

Academic Qualification :
-One must have to complete 10+2 from a recognized board or university in order to be eligible for this exam.
-The candidate must have gone through Mathematics and with at least one of the subject between Chemistry and Physics in 10+2.

If you fulfill this criteria and if you are interested to appear for the exam, then you can attempt the exam.

For this academic year, the SCRA Exam was over and you can appear for upcoming SCRA Exam which is going to be conducted in the next academic year on 29-01-2012.

For more information on this SCRA Exam, you can visit
