I have completed my B.PHARMA ( years duration) in year 2013 and obtaind60% marks in most of the semester exam. Final semester I have cleared with IInd class. Please advise Am i eligible to appear for AFCAT exam?

can i do AFCAT after b.pharm?

You can join Ground Duty Branch of AFCAT if you are a B.Pharma. passed Graduate candidate. But you have to fulfill the other criteria also before applying.

AFCAT is conducted for Flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch.

For Ground Duty Branch any stream Graduates can apply but for Flying and Technical only Engineering Graduates or Graduates who have studied physics and maths can apply.

Age Limit for Ground Duty Branch:

Should be between 20 to 23 years. There is no age relaxation of any type.

So if you have this age then surely you can apply for AFCAT for Ground Duty Branch only.

Selection Procedure:

-Written Examination

-AFSB Interview

-Medical Examination

Hence be prepared for above stages if you want to join Indian Air Force as an officer.

You must have good medical fitness. There will be medical test and if you are found unfit then you can't join Indian Air Force.

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted for the recruitment in Flying Branch,Technical Branch and the Ground Duty Branches.


As you have completed your B.Pharma,you will be eligible only for the Ground Duty Branches->Administration and Logistics posts,
provided you fulfill the following eligibility conditions,

Ground Duty Branches->Administration and Logistics Eligibility-:

Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
AGE-> Minimum of 20 years and Maximum of 23 years.
Height-> Height 157.5 Cms(Men only).

OR
Post Graduate or equivalent diploma in any discipline with 50% of aggregate marks.
AGE-> Minimum of 20 years and Maximum of 25 years.


For the Flying Branch also any Graduates with 60% aggregrate can apply but they should have studied Physics and Mathematics at the 12th standard.
The age limit is 19 to 23 years.
