Here is the eligibility criteria for CAT Exam : Academic Qualification : -One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% of marks. -Relaxation in percentage of marks upto 5% in Graduation for the candidates of SC/ST. You did not mention the category to which you belong. If you are a candidate of General category, I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to appear for CAT Exam. Hello friend,
To take the Common Admission Test, conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, you must have scored a minimum of 50% in your bachelors degree examination. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the required percentage of marks is 45%. So, if you belong to general category, you'll not be considered eligible for the test, however, if you belong to SC/ST category, you are eligible to take the test. For complete information, refer to the official website of IIM. |

Am I eligible for CAT Exam having secured 49.9% in BBA? Eligibility criteria for CAT
Since you have failed to get 50% marks in graduation you are not eligible .I am saying this because you haven't mentioned your category and in that case all candidates are treated as general category students. However you are eligible ,if you belongs to sc/st category. With Regards rchauhan294

Sorry to say that you are not eligible for CAT exam. You have completed BBA with 49.9% so this marks is not consider for CAT exam. Because those candidate have completed graduation degree with above 50 % marks are eligible for CAT exam. This percentage is decreased for SC/ST candidate.(45%) There are not age criteria so you can apply here maximum time. But you are eligible for MAT exam. This exam is conduct 4 times in a year. So you can prepare well in English ,GK and math. All the best |

But dont think there's no other way left to pursue MBA. If you fail to satisfy the above written eligibility criteria then you can easily give various other MBA Entrance Exams where the marks to secure is much less and on securing good marks in those written exams too you can get the opportunity of studying in some of the best B-Schools in our country. One such exam is the MAT exam, the full form of which is Management Aptitude Test and this exam is conducted by the AIMA. Just like CAT, MAT is also an All India Entrance Test for MBA and it is also very popular like CAT among MBA aspirants. One of the biggest advantage of this exam is that it is conducted for four times every year in the months of February, May, September and December. There is both paper based test and computer based test to choose from. The exam is not only conducted in multiple exam centres in India but also in Dubai and Singapore. To sit for the MAT exam you need to be a graduate first and this degree can be attained in any discipline of your choice. The subject you choose at graduation level is of little significance here. Therefore if you get 40% of marks at grad level then that is more than enough. Students who are in the final year and is about to appear for the final qualifying exam or is waiting for the results to come out can also give this exam. In that case they will be given provisional admission and it should be remembered that there is no age limit as such to appear for this exam which means that you can give this exam whenever you want to. For the exam questions will come from the following sections:-
