Am I eligible for GATE exam after completing MSc IT?


Hi,

I have completed Msc(I.T) in 2009. am i eligible for gate exam?

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering .This exam is conducted for M-Tech admission , PHD admission and some of the organization recruit the candidate through GATE score.

If you have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department are applicable for GATE Exam.There is no marks criteria.

Final year of above mentioned degree are applicable for GATE Exam.But prefinal year candidate are not applicable for GATE exam.

Yes , You are applicable for GATE exam because you have completed M.Sc degree in IT stream .

The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours time. The question paper consists of only objective type questions.

GATE score is valid for TWO years.3rd year student are NOT eligible for This year GATE exam.Only final year and pass out batch are eligible for 2012 GATE exam.

Yes,you will be eligible to apply for GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) for taking admission in M.Tech Course as well as through this exam,you will also able to get jobs in Maharatnas/Navratnas Companies.

Yes you are eligible for GATE paper code CS which is for computer science and engineering/information technology .

Paper pattern- In 2013 paper pattern was objective types consisting 100 marks and total time to attempt the paper was 3 hrs.Paper was purely from engineering branch you choose and engineering mathematics.General aptitude and English also asked so be prepare for it also.

Exam date-There are two modes available 1) Online paper on 20th january
2) Offline on first Sunday on February.

Eligibility-60 % marks in engineering/MSc from any recognized university.

Application form- Application form will be available from September.You have to fill application online only,no offline form will be available.

Syllabus- When you will fill the application then you will have a option to download the brochure.You can see detailed syllabus in it.

Yes you can apply for GATE if you have M.Sc. IT qualifications from a recognized University.

Those who have Masters Degree in Computer Applications or Information Technology are eligible to apply for GATE
.

Also those who have B.Tech. in any discipline from a recognized Board of education can apply for GATE.

There is no age limit to apply for this examination if you have the qualification.

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is conducted by IITs and IISc Bangalore for admission into M.Tech. course.

GATE score will also help you in getting scholarship which is sponsored by AICTE for higher studies. You will get stipend during your post graduation from a AICTE approved institution if you qualify GATE.

Some PSUs also hire on the basis of GATE score. Companies like GAIL, BHEL , SAIL, NTPC etc hire engineering based on the GATE score.

So you can apply for GATE for Computer Science stream. So start your preparation for GATE as you have the required qualification.
