No, you are not eligible to apply for UGC NET recruitment.

The required minimum educational qualification is that candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university with minimum 55% aggregate and relaxation for the reserved category.

Having completed your Postgraduate in Psychology with 49.87% marks in aggregate, you are not eligible for appearing in UGC NET as the minimum marks in aggregate required in qualifying degree to be eligible for appearing in the same examination is 55% in case of Unreserved category which is relaxed upto 5% for reserved category candidates.

So, in order to appear in the UGC NET, you will be required to improve your aggregate in your postgraduation degree by appearing in improvement examination or by redoing the same course again by taking a fresh admission.

For complete details and updates regarding UGC NET eligibility conditions, you can refer to the link www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

You cannot apply for UGC NET examination.

The minimum eligibility to apply for the examination is that candidate must have passed master degree with minimum 55% aggregate for general and minimum 50% for OBC.

You will become eligible to appear in the examination only after improving the aggregate in your post graduation.

Those possessing a post graduate degree with 55% marks are eligible for exam.

Candidates should not be more than 31 yrs of age for JRF
However there is no age restriction to apply for the post of Assistant professor

PhD degree holders who have completed their masters exam on or before 19th September 1991 will be eligible for a relaxation of 5%in aggregate marks for appearing in NTA NET.

UGC NET examination is conducted by the NTA. The examination is conducted twice in a year.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university.

Minimum 55% aggregate is required to appear for the examination while there is relaxation for the reserved category.

You are not eligible to appear for the examination as minimum required criteria for OBC is 50% aggregate.

Having completed your Post-graduation with 49.87% marks in aggregate, you are not eligible for appearing in UGC NET even being a OBC category candidate as the minimum percentage aggregate required in the post-graduation degree to be eligible for appearing in UGC NET is 50% in case of reserved category candidates (including OBC category candidates) which in case of General category candidate is 55% ( without rounding off).
