Re: Am i eligible for UPSC IAS examination?
Graduation is the basic qualification for IAS exam. Candidate must possess a minimum of 50% marks to qualify. Also the qualification must be obtained from any recognized institute. So with 48% marks you are not eligible to apply. You can apply for other job positions suiting your qualification under central/state government like banking sector, insurance sector etc.

Re: Am i eligible for UPSC IAS examination?
You are definitely eligible for Indian Administrative Service. My friend the requirement for IAS is a graduation degree. Having completed graduation through distance education is not a issue here. Candidates with such degrees can appear for the Civil Service Examination.
Similarly your percentage is also not a issue. As long as you have passed bachelor course, rest does not matter. The criteria for IAS is graduation degree. The percentage is not a criteria for Indian Administrative Service. Therefore start preparing for the Civil Service Examination. The notification of the next exam will be out soon. Generally it is released in November. The first set of exams which is Preliminary exam would take place next year in May. You need to start preparing now to make the cut. You can start off with reading lots of newspaper and keep the track of all the latest development for the General Studies Examination which would be part of preliminary and main exam. Apart from that you should also work on your English. Please remember that Civil Service Exam can be taken in English and Hindi languages only. Eligibility 1. Candidate should be Indian citizen. 2. A graduation degree from a recognized university. 3. Stream and percentage in Bachelor course are not an issue. 4. Final year students of bachelor course may also apply. Age Limit 1. General Candidates - 21 to 30 years. 2. Other Backward Class Candidates - 21 to 33 years. 3. SC/ST candidates - 21 to 35 years. Exam Pattern 1. Preliminary Exam - It contains two papers. 2. Main Exam - There are total of 9 papers. 3. Interview Number of Attempts 1. General - Four 2. OBC - Seven 3. SC/ST - No limit |
