The UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and the Central Government conducts the railway recruitment examinations for various posts.

1:Special Class Railway Apprentices(SCRA) Examination
for that exam:
a)you should complete 10+2 and Bachelor degree with Physics and Mathematics or Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum of 50%.

b)your age should be between 17 – 21 years .

2:Railway Officers Examination for the post of-

Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS)

Indian Railway Store Service (IRSS)

Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE)

Indian Railways Accounts Service (IRAS)

RPF Sub-Inspectors / Constables etc

for that exam you should have bachelor degree with 10+2 level science stream.

yes a computer science engineer can also join Indian railway under signal section..and there are lots of other opportunity for computer science branch similar to other electrical branches in all government jobs like

1. BSNL(bharat sanchar nigam limited)

2. ISRO(Indian space research organisation)
   
   There is no form for applying ISRO you need to go to isro website and fill your form but before that you need to make a D.D of 100/- and then you need to apply to website..then you need to note down your application form no and take print of the
   
   generated form and sent to the ISRO address.
3. DRDO(Defense research and development organisation)
4. ECIL(Electronic cooperation of india limited)
5. AAI(Airport authority of India)
6. SAIL(Steel authority of india)
7. RRB(Railway recruitment board)
8. UPSC(Union Public Service Commission )
9. CDS(Combined defense service)

Yes there are lot of vacancy are open for the engineers. Now most of the vacancy will be open in the metro if you are interested and eligible then you can apply. The percentage required is 60% marks without any backlog.

ELECTRICAL.etc.

Yes my friend you are very much eligible for getting jobs in Railway department. Although there is not so much Engineers of Computer sc. and I.T. are not required.
Maximum of them are from the following department :

* Civil
* Mechanical
* electrical
* Production
* Applied Electronics
* Electronics etc.

But some posts are still for the C.S.E and I.T. candidates and these are :

* Accounting
* Traffic etc.
