I am a Master degree holder in Sociology. Am I eligible for writing SET exam in Sociology without having a B.Ed in Sociology? If yes, then let me know latest by when should I apply for SET examination? In which month does the exam takes place usually?

It is not mandatory to have the B.Ed qualification to appear for the SET.

The examination is conducted for the recruitment as a Lecturer in government colleges.

Also, the minimum education required to appearing in these examinations is a master's degree ( in your interested paper for teaching) with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. Marks relaxation upto 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category. Further, there is no requirement of B.Ed degree for appearing in the SET as in the case of CTETs/State TETs.
