Zoology and Botany are two core branches of life sciences. Therefore one can easily do a phd in any of the life sciences department having passed a post-graduation. For doing phd you need to pass the csir-ugc-net. Or university's entrance exam whichever applicable, for persuing the degree.

Yes, After MSc in zoology, you may avail the PhD degree in the relevant subject. you need to appear in UGC NET or CSIR NET for the PhD.
The NET is conducted for the lectureship, to pursue PhD and for JRF Awards.
The candidates are allowed to apply for their post graduation subject or its related subject only.
The minimum age limit is 30 years for the NET JRF while no age limit criteria for the lectureship.
take a brief knowledge from official website before apply for the exam. all the best!!
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
