According to me Thapar is the best. it has around 7 to 11 seats on an average for every branch and you have answer an Entrance Test called LEET-TU in order to get into it.

since you already completed your BTech so now try to aim for direct 2nd year BTech admission. There are many colleges like Thapar,Manipal,Some NITs have awesome placements and can act as a real treat for BTech students

Weather we talk about placement or quality of Education non other then IIT's and NIT's and also IIIT'sare better for the purpose.

Every year any one of the IIT records 100% placement record.Last year IIT,Delhi had given 100% placement to all its B.tech students .So, we can say that IIT's have 100% placement records.Where as NIT's and IIIT's have more then 90% placement records.

Note : Like any other institutes niether IIT's,NIT's nor IIIT's provide admission to 2nd year, even through Lateral entry you will be provided admission to 1st year.

Other then these premium institutes there are numbers of institutes who have achieved higher placement records.

Some of them are as follows:-

DCE,Delhi

Heritage Institute of Technology,West Bengal.(85% last year)

JAdavpur University,West bengal (more then 95%)

BESU,West bengal (more then 95%)

I dont think, that VIT has lateral Entry Scheme.

There is nothing such thing mentioned in Eligibility Criteria.

Take a look of the Eligibility Criteria from HERE

You can try for any else institute.

I don't think that IIT and DTU take lateral entry. BITS(Pilani) take lateral entry in 2nd semester only if one has previously given its paper. Can you please tell me

It is fact that Thapar is Deemed, but.....

Both are private Institutes and also both costs much.

But deciding which one is good among both is slightly tougher with out proper information from you.

Among them which will be better is also depend greatly in Which branch you want to study.

Generally both have good infrastucture, good faculty, excellent placement etc. But VIT is better from Thapar if someone is opting for its Mechanical branch and all the branches comes under Mechanical.

And rest of all is fine Thapar is better.

So, check out which branch you want to opt for.

If Mechanical or Related then VIT is better option if not then nothing is better then Thapar.

No dear its not possible............!

Niether IIT's or NIT's have Lateral entry scheme to 2nd year.

IF a candidate is going through after cracking AIEEE or IITJEE in any of NIT'ss or IIT's he/she have to take admission into 1st year of B.Tech.

No lateral entry into 2nd year is possible as there is no such provision for Lateral 2nd year admission into any of NIT's or IIT's.
