Can Forest Research Institute graduates are eligible to apply for Indian Forest Service jobs? I also heard that IFS conducts entrance. Is it true? If yes, then please share the entrance details conducted by IFS.

IFS (Indian Forest Service) is the entrance exam conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility for IFS

Qualification
You must have passed bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects as Animal Husbandry and Forestry Science/Botany/Chemistry/Geology/Mathematics/Statistics/Physics/Zoology/Agriculture/Forestry/Engineering.

Age Limit
Your age must be between 21 to 32 years. Upper age relaxation applicable as per government norms.

Maximum Attempts
Eligible candidates are permitted to appear for IFS exam maximum 4 times for general, 7 times for OBC and no limits for SC/ST categories.

Selection Stages
- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
- Interview

Preliminary Exam
It consists of two papers.
- Paper I : 200 Marks, 2 Hours
- Paper II : 200 Marks, 2 Hours

Main Exam
It consists of six papers and each will have time duration 3 hours.
- Paper I : General English - 300 Marks
- Paper II : General Knowledge - 300 Marks
- Paper III, IV, V and VI each having 200 Marks and candidates will have to select any 2 subjects from the list of optional subjects.

Interview : 300 Marks
